Chapter 34

Before it was time for Aaliyah and the girls to leave, she walked into Carmen's room.

"So, I'm going to do it", Aaliyah said.

"Really?", Carmen asked.

"I don't have any other choice at this point", Aaliyah said.

"Daniel and the boys can go down there", Carmen said.

"No. That would just cause more chaos", Aaliyah said.

"True", Carmen said. "But I'm sure it's some other way"

"One thing that I've learned is that every time I try to find another way, something happens in the process. I rather know that I can always see Dre one day than to never see him again", Aaliyah said.

Carmen didn't say anything.

"How will the kids react?", Carmen asked.

"I'll just tell the truth on why Im doing it. They just can't tell Dre", Aaliyah said.

"I don't think Dre is just going to let you leave him", Carmen said.

"Well then I'll have to make him. Either way it's happening. I've already said somethings to him this morning and I've already brought up divorcing him", Aaliyah said.

"And what was his response?", Carmen asked.

"...I don't really remember. I wasn't trying to listen because I didn't want to make it harder than it already was", Aaliyah said. "He just sounded sad"

Carmen sighed.

"If you think this is the best thing for your family than do it", Carmen said. "Just make sure it's the only choice"

"It is...but I have to go see Jada before I leave", Aaliyah said.

"Okay", Carmen said. "Call me when you get to ATL"

"Okay", Aaliyah said before she hugged Carmen. "Bye"

Carmen hugged her back. "Bye", she replied.

Aaliyah pulled away and walked out of the room.

When Aaliyah got to Killa's house Jada was home by herself.

"So, are you always by yourself all of the time?", Aaliyah asked.

"Yea, pretty much", Jada said as she sat on her bed.

Aaliyah walked to Jada dresser.

"Are you behaving yourself?", Aaliyah asked.

"Yea", Jada asked.

Aaliyah looked at Jada.

"Why couldn't you do that me?", Aaliyah asked.

"I guess I have matured", Jada said.

Aaliyah nods as she walks to the closet and opens it.

"What are you doing?", Jada asked.

"Just had to make sure nobody else was here", Aaliyah said. "You know I have to be cautious with you"

"I'm 19", Jada said.

"Yea but that doesn't matter to your dad right?", Aaliyah said as she saw something sticking out from under Jada's bed.

Aaliyah walked to the bed and bent down to push it under the bed.

Jada quickly went to that side of the bed.

Aaliyah made a face. She knew something was up and that there was something Jada didn't want her to see.

Aaliyah took the bag from under the bed.

"Mom. Dont open that", Jada said.

Aaliyah opened it anyway. She saw heels, thongs and bracelets along with other familiar things.

"What is this for?", Aaliyah asked.

"...I have a boyfriend", Jada said.

"That or you're stripping", Aaliyah said.

"I'm guessing that's something you used to do if you spot it out like that", Jada said.

"Don't flip the script. What happened to Amazon?", Aaliyah asked.

"I never worked there", Jada said.

Aaliyah shook her head and put the bag on her bed and put her hands up.

"You keep saying that you're grown so I'm going to let you be grown, so I'm not going to say anything about that", Aaliyah said.

"I don't feel like it's nothing wrong with doing it. It's not like I'm having sex for money. I'm still virgin by the way", Jada said.

Aaliyah looked at Jada for a moment because she sound just like her when she was younger.

"Jada, don't explain anything to me. You're grown. Grown people don't explain themselves", Aaliyah said.

"Really mom?", Jada asked.

"Really", Aaliyah replied.

Jada didn't say anything.

"But although  your "grown" call me if you need. I have to go check my plane", Aaliyah said.

"Where's Andrea and Adrienne?", Jada asked

"In the car. Andrea isn't feeling good so Adrienne stayed with her", Aaliyah said.

"She got a cold?", Jada asked.

"...yea, just a little cold", Aaliyah hoped. "I love you"

"I love you too", Jada replied.

Aaliyah walked out of the room.

"Well...she took that better than expected", Jada said to herself.
