Chapter 28

               ~Flashback to middle school~
"Y/N! Come over here and look at this!" Your friend Yeseul called from the other side of the park

"Going! Give me a second" you turned back around to face him, Jung Yohan

"I'll give you my notes tomorrow. I have to go now, see you tomorrow" you said smiling at him and running towards your friends

"She's so pretty" he said

"Yohan! You said that out loud, she may have heard" his friend facepalmed

"It's ok, I think it's pretty obvious that I like her anyway. She probably knows by now"

The next day

"Yohan! There you are, I've been looking everywhere for you. Here are the notes" you handed him a notebook containing the class notes for the week since he was out sick

"Thank you Y/N" he smiled

"No problem, let me know if you have any questions" you left to go eat lunch with your friends while he stared in awe at you

"She's top of the class and pretty too" he whispered

"Yeah she is"

He turned around and saw his friend standing next to him. "How long have you been there?! You scared me" he said walking off to the lunch room as well

He arrived at the lunch room and sat a few tables away from you. He stared at you from afar and saw you smiling and laughing with your friends. "Are you gonna ask her out?" His friend asked

"I'm not sure, maybe later on" Yohan said and started eating. "Whatever you say"

Two months later

"Yohan.... I've been meaning to tell you something" Haewon walked up to the boy nervously

Yohan turned around and faced her. "I like you" she said quietly

Yohan just stared at the floor for a few seconds before looking back up at her. "I'm sorry Haewon but I like someone else" he said

"Oh... it's ok, I didn't expect you to like me back anyway" she said turning around and walking away

"Haewon!" He called after her. "Yes?" "We can still be friends" he smiled at her. She smiled back and continued walking

Should I confess to Y/N now? No, it's probably too early. I'll wait a little more

The next thing he knew it was the end of the school year and he still hadn't confessed to Y/N. "Today's the day I finally confess to Y/N!" He said while walking to school

"That's the spirit!" His friend said from behind him

"Ah! Why are you always behind me at the most random times?!"

"It's just a habit now" his friend shrugged and they walked off to school. Y/N was about to go in when Yohan called after her. "Y/N! Can you meet me at the room top during lunch?" He said

"Sure" she smiled and walked inside

It was finally lunch time and Yohan headed towards the roof top. Y/N arrived about three minutes after he did and saw him looking at the sky.

"Hi" she said as she walked towards him "what did you wanna tell me?"

"Well this might be a bit out of the blue but... I like you Y/N" this time it was him being nervous. Little did they know Haewon always ate lunch at the roof top so she heard everything.

"Oh... I'm sorry Yohan but I only see you as a friend" Y/N stared at the ground and so did the boy

"It's ok" he said "I just wanted to let you know how I felt before the school year ended. You can leave to the lunch room now if you want" he said

"Ok.... see you in class then" she said and walked down the stairs towards the lunch room

Yohan stayed up in the roof top and looked sad and a bit frustrated. He ran his hand through his hair and a tear fell down his cheek. Haewon started to tear up at the sight and finally came out of behind the flower pot she was in. Yohan didn't notice her until she sat next to him.

"Are you ok Yohan?"

"Yeah" he said drying his tears. "Let's go to the cafeteria" he said and walked off

Haewon held a grudge against Y/N for making him cry, he was her first love and seeing him hurting made her feel hurt too. She promised herself that she would make Y/N feel as sad as he felt that day.
