Y/N's POV

I stopped in the middle of the hallway after I got that message from her. I went into panic mode and Jennie told Lisoo to go to their class while she dragged me to the nearest bathroom.

"Everyone, OUT!" She hissed, causing all the other girls to scurry out quickly. She went and locked the main door to the bathroom and turned to me,

"What did she say to you?" She said softly. My brain was still trying to think of every possible scenario that could've happened to her. I just mindlessly handed my phone to Jennie and she just stared at it.

"She didn't even say anything else?" She spoke louder. I just shook my head, tears welling up in my eyes,

"What if her father passed away and she's hurting right now?" I whispered to Jennie. She looked at me sadly,

"I don't want to go that far, but that's the most logical explanation we have right now." She sighed out. She handed my phone back to me,

"What should I text back?"

"Um, ask her if she's alright for the remainder of school. You can go see her afterwards." I nodded and texted her,

Me: i'm glad u responded to me
but i get the feeling that u are not
alright

Me: can u wait until the end
of school before i come and check
on u bc i have another test?

Me: if not, i will skip it

I showed Jennie what I wrote and she approved, so I sent it and hoped she would respond quickly. We must have lost track of time because the bell rang and we weren't in our next class. We both jumped, but we knew we had to attend them even if we would be late. Jennie gave me a hug,

"She's going to be okay, try to get your mind off her and think of something else right now." She said pulling back and grabbing her things for her next class.

"I'll try," I said walking out of the bathroom door and making my way to chemistry. I opened the door and my teacher just told me not to be late again. I mumbled a sorry and made my way to the empty lab table. I laid my head down and drowned out the world and just stared out the window. My phone on the table moved with a buzz and I grabbed it faster than the flash and check it,

Your Rosie🤍:
i can wait until after school,
i want time to myself anyway

That's all she sent me but it was able to put me at ease at least a little.

The rest of the school day dragged on and I didn't even bother meeting up with Jenlisoo, I just sprinted off school grounds right to Rosie's house. It only took me five minutes and I was standing on her front porch. I waited a few minutes so I could catch my breath, then stood up straight and knocked on the door. I was bouncing anxiously on my feet when I heard faint shuffling beyond the door. The knob then turned and the door opened, revealing a Rosie with bloodshot eyes, a runny nose, and her still wearing my hoodie.

I didn't hesitate to throw myself at her and give her the best hug I could offer. She immediately broke down into tears in my arms while I whispered sweet nothings into her ear. She gripped onto me like I was her lifeline. I swayed her gently and rubbed my hands up and down her back comfortingly. We stayed like this for 5 minutes. After that, I slowly started to walk her backwards into her house so I could shut the front door. Over Rosie's shoulder I saw someone who I assumed to be her mother standing in the kitchen, observing us. I made eye contact with her and she just gave me the best smile she could before tears threatened to fall. She made her way upstairs and closed a door, which I guessed was the master bedroom.
