25: Mark is on death row now apparently

Now, unfortunately for Mark, that was by far the stupidest thing he had ever done apparently. Because even as he sat in the film room, he was being watched like a hawk, not only by Mr Moon, but by the new teacher who was in there in the room, Mr Park (because Taeyong yet again changed the flippin rules), and also

Of his friends.

Mark dropped his sandwich on the table, "guys he's not here, I'm not going anywhere geez."

Jaemin narrowed his eyes at him, "I don't give a fuck, Lee."

A tap came from the door. Oh yes, that too. Taeyong had made it that now the film room had to be locked and if someone had to get in, they had to state a cause, like some fucking immigration office.

Renjun, who seemed to be the only sane one in the room and not glaring at Mark, sighed and slid out of his chair. He moved the blind slightly, the side opposite to Mark, cause he wasn't stupid, and stared blankly at the person behind.

"Cause?" he asked bluntly.

"Cause, I'm that bitch."

"Not valid," Renjun dropped the blind back, nonchalantly making his way back.

"Wait no, hyung, please," Jisung whined, banging on the door, "let me in."

Mr Park stood up, peeling his eyes away from Mark and walking to the door. "Who is he to you?"

"Friend," Mark said with a frown, thinking about how stupid this new system was. As if people at this school didn't know that Jisung was one of his best friends, like come on.

"An enemy, honestly," Renjun lazed back casually on his chair, examining his fingers.

Jeno pursed his lips, desperately wanting to add something but intended to hold back. He still needed to glare at his brother.

"...perhaps a lover."

Mark slammed his head on the table, "goddamit, Jeno."

"Just let him in for crying out loud," Chenle whined, slamming his hand down on the table and mumbling something in mandarin.

Renjun snorted, "should've said that in korean."

"Fine, you're all being fuckheads," Chenle stood up. Jisung was let into the classroom and sat down as Chenle continued his spiel.

"So what if Mark did something stupid, he did it outside of school and it can only happen outside of school." He walked over to Mr Park, "he doesn't need insolents like you," he pushed the teacher's shoulder before walking over to Mr Moon, "nor you." Chenle spun on his heels to face the rest of the boys, arms folded in front of him, "and certainly not you on his back." He slowly began to walk towards them. "You guys act as if you've never been dumb in your entire lives when I know for a fact that you have and I've barely known you guys long enough. So what if Mark did something stupid, that doesn't mean you glare at him like it was entirely his fault. Haechannie is interesting and cool and amazing and...well Haechan. Of course this was gonna happen the moment Mark felt anything for him, even friendship." Chenle stopped walking once he was directly in front of the table, "lay off of him, instead try find ways he won't die every time he's with him, ask him what it was like, tell him he's an idiot but you understand, you pathetic excuses for human beings."

Everyone stared at him in silence. He wasn't wrong. But they'd never felt more guilty in their lives.

Well except for Mark and Renjun.

Renjun spoke up in mandarin, seemingly correcting the boy's mistakes but applauding him for making the statement as a whole. Chenle nodded at him as he slumped down in the chair beside Jisung as he thanked the elder.

Jaemin rolled his tongue inside his cheek, "you really are an idiot."

"I know," Mark chuckled, "and what about it?"

Jaemin bit his lip, turning his head away from the window to address him properly, "was it worth it?"

Mark's face slowly tinted pink as he nodded, "yeah, it was."

Renjun cooed, leaning over an pinching Mark's cheek, "how adorable."

"Dude, shut up," Mark pushed Renjun's hand away, laughing as he got redder.

Jeno exhaled slowly, "but you got hurt." He looked up at Mark, speaking through gritted teeth, "you ended up in hospital, dude."

"I know, I did," Mark nodded, now looking down, "it hurt like hell." He sniffed, itching the back of his hand. He actually didn't believe that statement. Because it hurt worse than any hell he could fathom. Whatever the devil had in store for him was nothing compared to the pain he felt with Haechan. Or maybe that was the devil's plan, to just surround him by Haechans and let the pain burn in that way. The out of reach person being closer than ever, burning and melting his skin and hopes away.

"There's got to be another way though," Jisung pondered out loud as Mr Moon ushered Mr Park out of the room.

Chenle hummed in agreement, "you can't be allergic to a person, there's gotta be something else."

"But Haechan's clothes and stuff changes," Jaemin argued back as Mr Moon slid into one of the seats beside them, "I can ask Yangyang again next week, I have a project with him so I can ask again."

Jeno clicked his tongue, "even when we asked Sungchan, he said that Haechan has tried other things but Mark reacts just as badly."

Renjun shook his head, "It just has to be him."

"It is," Mark spoke up, "the burn gets better when I call him by his real name, it's why I was able to handle some of the pain."

"Wait what," Jeno sat up, "how?"

"Actually that kinda makes sense," Taeil cracked his neck before addressing the boys, "Rather than calling him 'full sun', calling him 'Donghyuck' would make it better because you're not really referring to him as a sun anymore. It's stupid, but in this case all illogical reasons are up in the air."

"So calling him 'Donghyuck' would make it better for Mark to cope?" Jaemin pursed his lips.

Everyone eyed each other as uncertainty ran through the groups' blood. It was a ridiculous thing of course, but it's not like they had a counter argument. And right now, out of all the impossibilities they could come up with, this impossibility seemed to be the most illogical. Which means it had to be correct.

"We'd have to test it somehow," Renjun crossed his arms in front of his chest, "somehow, we'd need to test Mark's reaction to 'Haechan' vs 'Donghyuck'."

"Not to mention, we'd need Haechan's...Donghyuck's...whatevers approval to run it," Chenle turned to Jisung who hummed in response.

"We can ask tomorrow, I'm pretty damn sure he'd say yes anyway," Jisung snorted.

Taeil clapped, "then it is settled, we test this, and also, no one is to tell Taeyong, yes?"

"Yes."
