soobin pov:

did she- did she reply sure? does that mean she wants to have steaks with me from now on? no soobin, don't read too much into it. it's probably just out of courtesy. she couldn't probably say no, that would make things awkward. yes, it's just out of courtesy... 

y/n pov:

"we can have steaks together from now on then," soobin said. is he inviting me- "sure," i replied without thinking much. after i realised what i just said, i just wanted to dig and hole and hide or just run away- this is too weird, why am i feeling this way... he's just a colleague park y/n, calm down...

the conversation ended there as we both just started staring at each other, somehow. "the steaks are here," the waiter said, suddenly waking both of us from that 'staring competition'. "oh, thank you," i thanked the waiter as he put the two plates of steak in front of us. "let's dig in!" i told soobin. "yep, let's get started i'm so hungry," i said.

"ah gosh, i'm so full. the food it's soo good but it's so filling too," i said. "yeah," soobin replied. "let's get going!" i said, making my way to the counter. just as i wanted to take out my credit card, soobin passed his card to the guy at the counter. 

"use this card," he told the cashier as he scanned his card. "thank you," he said, as he took his card back from the cashier. "i'll walk you home?" soobin asked. "sure," i replied, "also, do you want me to pay you back for the meal?" 

"it's fine, if it wasn't for me you wouldn't have skipped your lunch anyway," soobin said. "mhm, okay then... i live just ahead, i can take over from here if you wanna go back to sooyoung unnie," i said. "nah it's fine, once i see you reach home safely then i'll go off. there are doctors in the hospital anyway," soobin said. 

"okay," i replied as we walked back. soon, we reached my apartment. "i live here," i said. "mhm, okay. good night y/n, you had a long day," he said, patting my head. i kinda stunned for a moment as i just stared at me. "why? aren't we friends?" soobin asked. "oh, yeah we are. good night to you, and sooyoung unnie too. hope she recovers soon," i said. 

"i'll deliver your wishes to her, i'll get going first," soobin said. "okay, bye! see you at work tomorrow!" i said. "bye y/n, see you tomorrow," soobin said, waving. as soon as i closed the door, silence filled me. it was this silence, i really hated it. since young i've been all alone, i've hated it. 

no one would be there to talk to me. no one would be there to accompany. it would just be me, all alone again. and i never liked it. i just wished there would be someone who would just be there to talk to me, even if it's for a while...
