2 Months before the battle of camlann.

Y/n pov

I stood atop the highest tower of Weisshaupt, wearing my heavy warden armour without my helmet. I saw the twisted forms of  the Archdemon's minions in the tree lines slowly they encroach on this very fortress 'this...is it.'

"Ser Cousland we have a problem!"
Shouted warden Alistair. I turned to look at him
"what's the issue Alistair?" I questioned.
"The situation is dire, we've had no words from the commander and anyone I asked about the commander said they hadn't seen him since yesterday" he reported.
'he hasn't been seen since....yesterday' my eyes widened
"he....he couldn't have" my face turned into a scowl as I gritted my teeth in rage. "Alistair I want you to see whether his personal griffon is here if it isn't report back to me." I ordered
"surely not, your not suggesting that he deserted are you?" He questioned I turned to him
"after this is over and he returns he is to be detained and sentenced to death for condemning his brothers and sisters in arms"I spoke with authority lining my voice,
Alistair walked to investigate.

Then a warden officer came to us
"Ser Cousland" I grunted in acknowledgement " we have 250 wardens within Weisshaupt and by the end of the week we should have a 100 more from across the Gaul." I nodded "but the Archdemon has started its march..." He said nervously
" Steel yourself for we are brothers in arms now, we will prevail like our forebears have faith." He nodded "where is the Archdemon marching to" I asked
"our scouts reported that It was coming he-" he was interrupted by the shouting of Alistair
"Ser...Cousland...he's....gone....the bastard ran" he panted "he emptied the coffers as well....he took the lot" he said anger lacing his voice.
"Ser Cousland if the commander has truly abandoned us we have no one of any significant rank left to lead us" he spoke in a worried tone.
As Alistair and I looked at eachother ' I'll do it there isn't any other choice'
"I'll take charge" I stated Alistair turned to me shocked
"what?!!" He exclaimed " you can't be serious!!" He shouted " if you become the warden commander you have to take the final blow, you kill the archdemon at the cost of yourself.....you'll die" he said
"We will all die if I don't!" I retaliated
Then I felt it the presence of the archdemon it was get closer my eyes widened 'it knows...shit....we need to prepare'
"Alistair get me the mage Anders to enhance my voice so everyone can hear it"I ordered
"Yes sir" he ran off to get Anders. I turned to the officer
" Get everyone to battle stations this will be a fight for the ages, This is where we will make our stand" I commanded.

I turned and saw Anders " is it ready?"
"Yes it is Ser Cousland" he responded
"Good" I said as I put on my helmet.

Alistair POV

As I ran to my post I could feel those damn blighters crawling in those forest writing to attack.
Then I heard it the voice of the one who will save us 'I have faith that he will succeed'

" As I look upon you now I humanities darkest hour, when the forces of darkness converge awaiting their order to trample us they have underestimated our resolve for we shall fight until the day that the age of men comes crashing down,
but today is not that day, today we fight so gather all that you hold dear in your heart and fight.
warden riders on me ,today we make our final stand!!!!!!" The voice of the one all wardens respect echoed throughout the marble halls of Weisshaupt, i watched as the wardens around me no longer had hopeless face but a fire now took root in each of their hearts.

Then we saw the riders fly over the fortress they were all wearing the mark of our forebearers the sigil of the griffon, as the flew towards the horde with Ser Cousland at the head leading the charge 'so that's why he was awarded the silverite wings of valour'
