Chapter 16

(The next day)

Mallory's POV

I woke on the floor and saw Cam on my left and Kian on right. I sat up and saw all the guys spread out in the living room. Lia and Jc were on once couch though and Sarah and Dad were on the other. Max left last night after talking for a bit.

I got up trying not to wake anyone and went to the kitchen. I decided to make breakfast so that when everyone woke up, they could eat already.

I looked through the cabinets and fridge and we had nothing to feed all of us.

McDonald's it is I thought to myself. I jogged upstairs and to get my wallet and went back downstairs. I grabbed Dads keys and made sure to write a note saying where I went. I went outside and I got into the car and made my way towards McDonald's.

It was 11 in the morning and there was a lot of traffic at this time. I decided to take another route and went into their long road. It would get me to McDonald's way faster. I have to say though, the lanes aren't that really wide.

I was listening to to the radio and I heard a car honk. I looked up and saw a big semi truck coming. I quickly turned to wheel, but I guess I turned it too much because I ended up going off the road.

I rolled down the slight hill and I pressed the breaks as hard as I could, but the car wasn't slowing down. Finally, the car stopped from hitting a tree and luckily the air bag didn't activate. I got out of the car and everything was spinning for a second.

Once I got myself together, I searched for my phone.

"Shoots" I said

I forgot my phone on my dresser. I only took my wallet. I decided to just walk I decided to walk back and hopefully pass a pay phone or someone nice enough to let me borrow one.

I was about to walk up the hill, till I actually got a good look on where I crashed. There was a little path and me being me wanted to see where it led to. So, I went on the path.

Cam's POV

I woke up after hearing the car go on. I got up and saw Mallory gone along with Connors keys. I went into the kitchen and saw the note she had wrote saying she will be back from McDonald's.

With that, I went up to my room and grabbed my phone. I went back downstairs and sat on the reclining couch and just checked up on my social media till everyone wakes up.

People started waking up and eventually everyone was already up. Mallory wasn't back yet and I tried calling her, but she left her phone here.

I told everyone that she left 2 hours ago and that she still wasn't back. We all got into the cars and drove to the nearest McDonald's to see if she was there.

We reached and saw that she wasn't in there. We tried going to another McDonalds and still no Mal.

"Where the hell could she have gone??" Shawn asked

"I don't know, she knows not to scare us like this" I said

We kept driving around, but to our luck we could find her.

Mallory's POV

I followed the little path and I ended up in this wide open area with a pond and trees surrounding it. It looked really nice and it was silent. This would be a perfect place to write music.

I walked closer to the pond and picked up a little rock. I threw it and I got it to skip 3 times.
I walked around and found this big Boulder, perfect for me to sit and write music on.

I climbed up and say down admiring the view. It was so peaceful and beautiful. I started humming and slowly by slowly words popped into my mind.

The Boulder was big and flat on the top and a tree was behind it. I leaned my back against the tree and gazed upon the trees. My eyelids got heavy and everything slowly faded away.

Connors POV

It's now 4 and we still don't find Mallory. I'm worried sick because who knows what happened to her this time.

We're currently all back at the house naming places where she could have been it is at.

"We'll split up and check these places quicker" I said

Everyone nodded and we left.

We headed down the street and there was bad traffic. Everyone finished work at this time, so I guess it's all busy. I turned into this road so we could just go around the traffic.

"What are you doing?" Shawn asked

"Short cut since there's a lot of traffic" I said

"Oh" he said

I continued to drive and I saw tire marks on the road while driving. I didn't think much of it till Shawn helped stop.

I braked on it and everyone jerked forward.

"What was that Shawn??" I yelled

"Isn't that your car?" Shawn asked

I pulled on the side and everyone including me got out of the car.

"It is" I said starting to run towards it

Everyone was right behind me. I got to the car and saw the picture of me Sarah and Mal in the middle apartment.

"The car doesn't look so bad, just a dent in the front from the tree. The air bag didn't even blow up" Kian said

I nodded and we looked around calling for Mal.

"Let's go through this little path" Shawn said

I turned around and saw a trail leading into whatever is over there.

"Okay let's go" I said

I took Sarahs hand and we followed Shawn and Kian. Jc and Lia were behind us.

We followed the trail and it led us to this beautiful place. A place where Mal would be.

We called her name, but still nothing.

We came across this big Boulder and I got an idea.

"I'll climb on that Boulder to get a better look" I said

Everyone nodded, so I climbed up.

When I climbed up, nothing was there. I stood up and still couldn't see anything.
