A change (sequel to New Beginning?)

Chapter 39

Conor's POV

"Mallory Franta?" The doctor asked and we all stood up.

"Who's her parents?" He asked

Conor stepped up. "It's just me" I said "is she okay? What's wrong?" I asked

"Come with me" he said and I left to go follow him.

"I know you're going to have to tell them, but I rather tell you first so we don't have a big commotion." He started and I already knew where this was going.

"No no no, please don't tell me what I think you're about to tell me" I said

"I'm really sorry Mister Franta. We've done everything we could, but she was already beaten up so badly and her body couldn't handle the stab wound" he said and I fell to the floor on my knees bawling my eyes out.

Someone picked me up and helped me walk back to the waiting area. It was Cameron.

"S-she's gone" I choked out

There were tears, cussing, and a lot of pacing around. I looked at David and he was a pale color and was completely quiet with tears falling down his cheeks.

I was so in shock that I didn't know what to do. I just felt like-

"Doctor! The heart monitor is back up! We have her again" I heard a nurse shout and multiple doctors running in.

"is that Mallory??" I asked running towards them, but was held back by a male nurse.

"Sir, you're gonna have to wait out here before you get in the way of anything" he said

"But she's my daughter!" I yelled and I felt someone drag me back to the waiting area.

A couple hours later and doctor jogged out towards us.

"Turns out that Mallory had an episode and a miracle just happened and she continued to pull through. You guys may visit her now" he said

I got up and hugged the doctor.

"Thank you" I said and ran to her room with everyone following me.

There she was lying down awake watching something on the tv. She looked so broken. She had a cast on her left arm, a wrap around her stomach for her ribs, and multiple stitches.

Once she heard us come in, she looked at us and looked away. I furrowed my eyebrows together and walked over to her.

"Hey baby" I said

She finally looked at me and broke down. "I really thought I wasn't doing to see you again" she cried

"They beat me up everyday and I didn't know how much longer I could handle it. I was even thinking of ending myself, but could never go through with it" she cried and now I was crying.

I wanted to engulf her in a hug so badly, but I didn't want to hurt her.

"Shawn and Megan have been calling a lot since you've been away" I trailed off

"Oh" she said "do they know I'm okay" she asked

"Shit" I said taking out my phone and I saw her smile a bit which made me smile.

"I'll be right back" I said and she weakly nodded and Cameron guys went up to her.

I already called Sarah and she will be coming here soon. I told her to leave Hannah because I don't want Hannah seeing her like this.

I dialed shawms number and waited for him to pick up.

"Hello?" He answered

"Shawn. We found her." I said

"That's great! I'm gonna come as soon as I can okay? Tell her I said I miss and love her and I'll see her soon" he said

"I will and let me know when you're coming so I can pick you up" I said

"Thanks Conor, I'll see you soon" he said and we hung up.

Mallory's POV

*going back to when she was brought to the hospital*

I know I blacked out, but I was still here. I felt my body becoming weaker and weaker and I felt like I couldn't pull through this which made me scared.

I knew I was in a surgery room, when I heard multiple voices sternly talking to each other on what to do. Then I heard things like "her heart rate is failing." "we need to stop the bleeding and stitch it up NOW" "gosh, this poor girl was beaten up bad"

As I finally thought I could pull through this, I shut down. The next thing I know, I'm waking up and the doctors are greeting me back. I had no idea what happened or if this was a dream.

I was watching the tv and I saw all the familiar faces. I turned away because I didn't want them to see me in this shape. I mean, they've seen me before beaten up, but not this bad.

I talked to dad and then he left to go call Shawn. Then Cameron guys came over to me and I smiled.

"Cameron, Nash, Matt, Carter, I missed you guys" I said as best as I could

"shhhh, you don't need to talk. Just rest" they said and Cameron took my right hand and Matt took my left.

I saw David in the chair and I smiled over to him and he chuckled and came over to me after Matt guys left.

"H-hey" he choked out

"Hi" I said

"I really missed you" he said breaking down and holding my hand.

"I really missed you too" I said starting to cry.

Then I felt something on my lips. It was David. He gave me a small peck and I smiled weakly since it hurt to smile.

He smiled back and then Kian guys came over to me.

I really missed my family. I would be lying if I said I had the worst family because I don't. I have the best.

I wouldn't exchange anyone in my family. I love them all too much. The most terrifying thing that I fear, is losing one of them. The way that they're here now and the way they treat me, I know they feel the same way.

I heard a knock on the door and everyone became silent. I slightly turned my head and I saw Sarah and a smile appeared on my face even if it hurt. She ran to my side and gently grabbed my hand breaking down.

"Never leave us again" she said
