Chapter 23

Kians POV

After Mallory telling me about who pushed her I kept quiet. I didn't know what to tell her. Her parents always did find a way to get to her. I don't understand why they need to ruin her life. Why can't they just leave her alone.

"Kian?" Mallory said

"Yeah?" I said

"What if I was just paranoid and thought I saw Nick?" She asked

"Either way, someone pushed you in and intended for you to get hurt" I said

she stayed quiet and I continued driving back.

"Kian. Slow down." I heard Mallory say

I was so in thought of what happened today that I didn't realize how fast I was going. I slowly released the gas pedal and slowed down.

"Sorry" I mumbled and continued to drive.

Once we reached the house, I got Hannah out who fell asleep and went over to Mallory's side.

"I got it" she said

I nodded and walked to the front door unlocking it. I walked in and out Hannah on the couch. It was hot, so I didn't bother to put a blanket on her.

"Why don't you go take a shower while I'll talk to Conor" I said

She sighed and nodded walking upstairs. I followed her up then I walked to Conor's door while she went to her room.

I knocked and heard him say to come in.

"Uh, hey man" I said coming in

"Hey man what's up? You guys are back soon" he said

"Yeah, something came up" I said

"That's your serious worried look. What happened?" Conor asked sternly sitting up

"We went to the zoo and Mal went to the bathroom. Hannah wanted to go see the lion real quick so I took her. When we went back to the spot where Mal went to use the bathroom which was by the alligator pond, I saw a girl screaming and trying to reach for the rail on the doc. I realized it was Mal and-"

"What!" Conor exclaimed jumping up

"Let me finish" I said

"I picked up Hannah and ran to her. I picked her up right in time" I said

"Is she okay?! Where is she" he asked sitting up

"Calm down, she's taking a shower in her room right now" I said

"Out of all the places she could have fallen, it was the alligator pond" Conor said walking back and forth

"Umm, Mal didn't fall" I said

"What?" He asked

"She said she was pushed... By Nick" I said

Conor just stared straight down. Finally he looked up at me. He bro hugged me. "Thank you for being there for her" he said

"Of course. I'll do anything for my family" I said

He nodded. "I-I'm gonna go talk to Mal about this" he said

I nodded and I left the room. I went back downstairs to check up on Hannah. She was still sleeping, so I carried her upstairs and laid her in my bed so she wasn't alone downstairs. Then I joined her and took a nap myself.

Conor's POV

I waited about half and hour before going to Mals room. I walked to her door then knocked on it.
