A change (sequel to New Beginning?)

Chapter 44

David's POV

Once I arrived in New York, I was immediately called into the studio for a little meeting. I was already exhausted from the lack of sleep I had on the plane ride and now I needed to go to a meeting.

I dropped my things at the hotel and went down and got in an uber. The way down to the studio, I took a little nap. The driver woke me up, so I paid him and headed in the building. I tried to make myself look more presentable (Nick Robinson is cute 24/7) and less tired before walking through the doors where the meeting was held at.

I finally walked in and was greeted with a few people. We sat down and talked about what I would be doing here and what things would be in store for me in the future.

After a couple hours, I headed back to the hotel. Once I reached my room, I took a shower and fell asleep right away when my head hit the pillow.

I woke up the next morning and and checked to see that it was 10:23.

"Crap" I mumbled getting my phone.

I totally forgot about texting Mal that I landed okay. I was so tired and had things to do that I just forgot.

I went to my messages and pressed Mals name.

Hey babe, sorry I didn't text you when I landed. I was jet lagged and called into a meeting and fell asleep right when I came back to the hotel.

I sent it and went to the bathroom to go get ready. I needed to be down at that studio at 12. I did my usual thing I did when getting ready and I went out to change my clothes. I put on a pair of khaki colored jeans and put on a plain black v neck and  black and gray vans.

I grabbed my phone and saw that Mal didn't text back yet. She's probably still sleeping. New York is 3 hours ahead and Mal can sleep all day if no one woke her up.

After I had everything I needed, I headed out. I decided to go and try this little breakfast cafe that was a block down.

I reached the cafe and sat down. A waitress came a few minutes later and I ordered some pancakes with bacon and eggs on the side.

I went on my phone and Mallory surprisingly texted me back.

How was your flight?

It was good, just didn't get enough  sleep.

Same here...

Why? What's wrong?

Aww babe, don't worry, when I get back we can cuddle and sleep all day. I'll make sure nothing happens to you so you don't need to have those bad dreams<3

I miss you! And I can't wait till you come back

My breakfast came and I set my phone down on the side after replying to Mallory that I missed her too.

Woah this place is good. Or I'm just really hungry and would think anything was good at the moment. After eating, I paid and called and uber to pick me up and take me to the studio.

I'm praying this won't take all day.

Mallory's POV

I woke up to a text from David. I smiled and replied.

I fell asleep watch a movie with Nash and Cam and when I woke up again, I was tucked in and they were gone. It was 12 when I woke up and couldn't go back to sleep. I tried doing anything and everything to try and fall asleep again, but I couldn't.
