Chapter 49

okay guys I'm so sorry I haven't updated in like a month! I've been busy with homecoming cause I won for my class!! and I was super excited and was helping to plan out and just didn't have the time to update. please don't take my story off your library! I'll update when I can.

Mallory's POV

It's been 3 months and I have these nightmares every night that I can't seem to stop dreaming. I'm seeing a therapist, but all she says is "you need to relax and clear your mind. You just have a lot of stress build up that you need to clear". That just makes me even more stressed out. David's still here and he makes sure to check up on me every hour. I love that he's looking out for me, but damn I don't need him checking every hour.

As for Max and Hannah, they've bonded a whole lot and their father, daughter relationship is great. We always go out to eat and go to the park and it's so heart warming to know that Hannah found out who her real dad is. As for my real parents, I haven't heard or seen them for the past 3 months and that scares me. I don't know where they are or when they're gonna do something. All I know, is to just live life and don't hide away in the dark.

*now*

"Hannah!" I called from the kitchen

"Yeah?" She shouted back

"I have your oatmeal ready. Come down and eat" I said

I heard little footsteps coming down the stairs and Hannah's little body popped through the kitchen door.

"Woah" I said looking at her bed hair

"What?" She yawned

"You look like Medusa with that hair" I laughed

"Who's Medusa?" She asked

"The lady with snakes as her hair and if you look into her eyes, you turn into a statue" I said

"Can I do that?" She asked "why don't you finish eating and run up to kians room and try it out" I said

"Okay! What do I do to turn him?" She asked

"Okay, so you need to sneak into kians room and go right up to his face... And then slap him on his cheek real hard so he wakes up and stare at him" I said

"Oh I wanna try it now" she said eagerly

"Eat. Then you can" I said

Without another word, she stuffed her face with oatmeal. Once she was done, we went upstairs and we snuck into kians room. Of course he was sleeping, so we went up to his face and I counted down with my fingers. Once my fingers were down, Hannah slapped Kian and Kian jumped up. Then, Hannah states him down and I fell to the floor laughing at how funny her face was and how Kian got scared.

After Kian kicked us out, me and Hannah went back downstairs and to the living room. We sat down and Hannah spoke up.

"Hey, Mal?"

"Yeah Hannah?" I said

"When can I go to school?" She asked

I looked at her and she was picking at her nails.

"I don't know yet. Not now" I said

"but why?" She asked

"Because we have a lot going on and we don't have time to send you to a public school" I said

"So what school am I getting?" She asked

"Actually, you'll be with Erica" I said (next door neighbors daughter)

Hannah's eyes widened.

"Erica's mom doesn't want Erica to go to public school, but she also doesn't want her daughter alone, so we made an arrangement for you to go home schooling together." I smiled
