Chapter 24

Mallory's POV

I quickly unlocked my phone and opened up my messages
D- Hey Mal! I'm back in town we need to do something!
M- omg!! When did you arrive???
D- just last night! I would've texted or called sooner, but I was jet lagged
M- you need to come over! Dad and the boys are gonna be so happy to see you again
D- how bout tomorrow ?
M- perfect, where are you staying? I'll pick you up
D- I'm staying at the Kingston hotel
M- okay, I'll pick you up at 10?
D- sounds good, thanks Mal
M- see you then

I closed my phone and put it on the charger. I met David 2 years before I started dating Max. We did a couple of songs together, but he moved since he got a better deal. We kept in touch for a little after he moved, but then stopped since we were so busy. Now he's back! And I can't wait to hang out with him. I have to admit when I first met him, I had a crush on him, but then I met Max. Besides David didn't want to deal with a relationship back then.

I went across to dads room and walked in.

"Hey dad- Sarah ?" I asked confused

"Hey Mal" she said smiling

Sarah and dad were cuddling in bed watching a movie.

"So I guess you guys are doing good then" I laughed a bit

"Yeah" Sarah said and they kissed

"OKAY so Sarah, dad David's back" I said

"Really??" They asked in unison

"Yeah and I'm gonna pick him up tomorrow and bring him here so you guys can see him again" I said

"Yeah of course, I missed that kid" dad asked "I thought you guys would've been cute" Sarah said

"Sarah!" I exclaimed

"What? You guys would" she said laughing

"What about Max?" I asked

"Yeah, you guys were really cute too" she said

"Yeah, until he forgot about me" I said

"It's okay Mal, do you need a hug?" Dad asked
"Yeah, come here" Sarah said

"I guess" I said playfully rolling my eyes

I hoped on their bed and hugged them.

"Me too!" I heard then felt a tiny body on top of me.

"Ew it's her" I whispered loudly for Hannah to here

"Mallory!" She yelled

"I love youuu" I sang and hugged her

"Now go hug in your room so we can continue to watch our movie" dad said

"Damn" I said and walked out with Hannah on my back.

*next day*

"David!" I said running to him

I jumped up and he caught me and I hugged him tightly. "I missed you so much!" I said

"I missed you too!" He said

Other people were giving us looks, good and bad but we didn't care.

"Here, these are for you" he said after we hugged. It was a bouquet of pink roses.

"Aww I love it" I said and hugged him again

I took his hand and we went to the car. Me and David always had that kind of relationship. We acted like a couple, but we're only best friends. I loved it like that, so I'm glad he didn't want a relationship. To me, I liked the thought of having someone that cared for me, but didn't like the pressure of always being worried. With David, we had that. We were the best friends that acted like a couple and didn't need to worry about relationship things.
