A change (sequel to New Beginning?)

Chapter 26

David's POV

The ambulance had came and took Mallory. Conor went inside with her and now we're all heading the the hospital. Hannah stayed back with the neighbors who had a little girl Hannah's age. We reached the hospital and of course, we needed to wait outside in the waiting room.

1 hour later

The doctor said that we could go inside the room. Mallory still wasn't awake so we just stood around her bed.

"Mallory had a high fever, so we cooled her down and until she wakes up and tells us if she feels any type of pain or feels funny, all we can do is wait" the doctor said. We all nodded and told the doctor thank you.

2 hours have passed and Mal started to move. I got up from the chair and went to her side. She fluttered her eyes open and blinked a few times to adjust to the light. Everyone else came to her side too.

"Am I in the hospital?" She asked

"Yeah" I said

"What happened to me now?" She asked

"We don't know, I came over and went to look for you and I found you outside on the floor unconscious" I said

"It was hot so I went outside to cool down, but I don't remember me falling" she said

Conor called the doctor in and he came and checked up on Mallory.

"Mallory, do you feel any pain or feel funny at all?" He asked

"My head just hurts" she said

"Well give you some medicine for that. Anything else?" He asked

"Nope" she said

"You can sign her out at the front" the doctor said

We thanked him and then he left. A nurse came back in and have Mal two pills.

"Thank you" Mallory said

"You're welcome" the nurse smiled then walked away

Conor and the guys went out and Sarah and Conor went to sign Mal out while the others went to the car. I offered to help Mal.

She slowly stood on her feet, but when she let go of the bed, she collapsed. I caught her right on time.

"Why don't I just carry you to the car" I said

I picked her up bridal style and walked out to the car. I placed her gently in the back seat in the middle and sat next to her while Sam was on the other side.

"Thank you" she told me

"Anytime" I said

"Hungry ?" Conor asked Mallory

"No" she said

"But you didn't eat anything" he said

"I don't feel like eating. Can we just go home please so I can sleep?" Mallory asked

"Fine" Conor said and drove off

We got home and I carried Mal to her room.

"I'm gonna go home and I'll be back tomorrow morning" I said

"Okay, thanks for everything" she said

"Call me if you need anything" I said and walked out

I went downstairs and made sure to say bye to everyone. Hannah was sleeping over at the neighbors house since it was really late and she was already sleeping. I got in my car then drove home going straight to bed.

Mallory's POV

I don't know what's wrong with me. One minute I'm fine and the next, I feel like crap. I couldn't sleep at all, so I tried watching some movies and eventually I fell asleep.

I woke up and heard talking downstairs. My head was still sore so I got up almost falling, but I caught myself. I went to the bathroom and grabbed some medicine from my cabinet. I looked in the mirror and I looked awful.

I had bags under my eyes, I looked pale, and my my lips were chapped. I didn't care though because how I looked, was how I felt so I didn't have the strength to fix myself up.

I walked out of my bathroom and went to my bed. I grabbed my phone and just scrolled through my Instagram. I found something pretty interesting. There was my trusty old boyfriend kissing another girl and him holding hands with her coming out of a restaurant. I wasn't surprised, but I was still hurt by it.

I threw my phone off my bed and laid down doing underneath the covers.

"Mal?" I heard

I still didn't come up from underneath the covers. Then I felt the bed dip and someone come underneath the covers with me. I finally took my head out and saw David.

"I'm sorry" he said

"For what?" I asked

"For what you just saw" he said placing my phone next to me, but it was turned off

"Oh that. But don't apologize for something that's not your fault" I said

"Come here" he said

"I feel like crap. I look like crap. And I don't want to pass it on" I said

"Who cares. If I get sick, we can be sick together" he chuckled

I laughed and scooted closer to him resting my head on his chest.

"I'm glad I have people like you and everyone I know in my life" I said

"And we're glad to have you in ours" he said

"Cheesy" i laughed

"You started it first" he shot back and laughed

We just ended up talking and making funny jokes.

"I'm gonna get pizza and bring it up" he said

"Sounds good" I said

Half and hour later, he came back with a hot large pizza. We sat down and just ate. We also had some Arizona ice tea.

"Oh my gawd. I just realized Hannah was gone. Where is she?" I asked

"At the neighbors" David said

"Neighbors?" I asked

"Yeah, they saw the ambulance truck and offered to watch Hannah. Plus, they have a little girl Hannah's age that Hannah plays with" he said

"Oh yeah, that's right. Her names Ashley. She's a really sweet and quiet girl" I said

"Hmmm didn't even get to see her. Conor dropped her off" he said

"You'll see her soon, Hannah might invite her over" I said

The rest of the day we ate, watched movies, and just laid in bed. These are my kind of days.

Sorry it's soooo short!! I just had to post something at least. I have finals this upcoming week "yayyy"

When do you end school?? I end june 3rd.
