ZEPHARIOS

"You're frowning again.", I pointed out as I poked my girlfriend's puffy cheeks. She immediately glared at me before shooing me away. Tumawa lang ako sa naging reaksyon niya.

Kanina pa nakasimangot tong isang to. Kahit tumatawa ako, I'm actually worried about her. She's not usually like this.

"Baby, would you like to tell me what's bothering you?", nag-aalalang tanong ko kay Prim as I gently tucked some strands of her hair behind her ear. I heard her let out a deep sigh.

"I had a talk with mom earlier. You know, after the titan Cronus' announcement.", she started off while turning to face me. I smiled at her.

"That's great! But... judging by your long face, things didn't go well with the goddess Aphrodite, did it?", I assumed. Nagulat ako nang bigla siyang yumakap nang mahigpit sakin. Kaagad ko namang hinaplos ang likuran niya.

"I feel like I'm a disappointment to her. My mother's just so... perfect, Rios. I mean, just look at her! She's so hard to please. I wonder... when will I be good enough too?", she started to sob as she buried her face on my chest for comfort. Niyakap ko lang siya.

"Good enough? You must be joking. The word 'good' won't even be enough to cover you, Grimaldi. Wanna borrow my eyes so you can see for yourself? If I could, I'd definitely do that just to clear your doubts. You're perfect just the way you are, Primordia.", I was being honest with my words pero inasahan ko na ang biglaang pagbitaw niya sa pagkakayakap sakin as she gave me a mortified expression.

"What a smooth talker you are, son of Ares. And please, stop calling me with my last name! You're giving me the creeps."

"I'm being honest here! And... would you prefer me calling you with my last name instead? Let's see, hmm... Primordia Odessa Valerie Di Argientien does have a nice ring to it, don't you think?", asar ko sa kanya as I saw how her cheeks instantly flushed red before shoving my face away from her. Tinawanan ko siya.

"W-Wag ka ngang magbiro nang ganyan! Ang corny mo! And might I add, my mom doesn’t even like you!", bulyaw niya sakin as while rolling her eyes at me. Ouch.

"Hindi naman siya yung papakasalan ko, ikaw naman.", I teasingly retorted kaya mas lalo siyang nahiya at ngayon ay tumalikod na sakin.

"Kilig yan?", dagdag ko pa, dahilan para masapak niya ako nang sandali siyang humarap sakin. She glared at me.

Hindi lang halata sa liit pero nananapak tong babaeng to eh.

And besides, I'm highly aware that the goddess Aphrodite doesn't want me for her daughter. I'm her ex-lover's son after all. It's been quite a while since she had a misunderstanding with my jerk-ass father, Ares.

"But seriously baby, look at me.", tawag ko kay Prim as I tried to hold her shoulder pero iwinaksi niya lang ako. Aba't!

"Primordia.", I called out again, this time using a warning tone. Padabog siyang humarap sakin.

"What, Zepharios? Aasarin mo na naman ako?", singhal niya sakin kaya natawa ako bago ko pinisil ang ilong niya.

"Seryoso na to! Now listen.", I started off.

"Never try to change yourself for the satisfaction of others, baby. If your own mom can't even see your worth as for who you are instead of what she expects you or wants you to become, then why did she even bother to have a daughter on the first place, right? Believe me, I'm sure that the goddess Aphrodite is very proud you. Maybe she just has a hard time expressing what she truly feels for you; her daughter. You know how the gods suck at parenting. Take my father for example.", litanya ko as I turned to the direction where the gods were settled while giving Ares a quick glance. Rinig ko pa ang pagtawa ni Prim sa harapan ko.
