009- THE WITCH'S WARNING
"We still have about three hours and a half before we get stuck here till eternity.", Kai helped me up from the ground at halos manlambot ang tuhod ko when he held my arms as if examining it for some bruises and scratches.
Binigay niya rin sakin yung Orb of Apollo na siya mismo ang pumulot. He let out a deep sigh as I heard him curse something in Greek.
"You saw what I did earlier---", he cut me off.
"Yes. It's their fault though. They were the ones who provoked you.", medyo nagulat ako sa sinagot niya. Hindi makapaniwala ko siyang tiningnan.
"But it was wrong. I shouldn't have lashed out to those innocent creatures like that---"
"If it was me, I would've done the same thing to them Ahlkria. Perhaps even worse. There's no way I'm pretending to be someone I'm not. I don't do mercy. You should know that.", I was left speechless by what Kai said as he gathered some strands of my hair and tucked it behind my ear. May pinunasan din siyang dumi sa pisngi ko.
He was just maintaining a straight face the whole time while doing those things to me na maging si Amadeus ay mahinang napasipol sa gilid as he gestured at Kai infront of me.
"Your boyfriend, my lady?", nabulunan ako sa sarili kong laway sa biglang tinanong ni Amadeus habang pabaling-baling ang tingin sa aming dalawa ni Kai. I narrowed my eyes at him.
"No, doofus. He's---", a friend? Magkaibigan ba kami ng lalaking toh?
In the name of Zeus, baka murahin niya lang ako pag sinabi kong magkaibigan kami.
"He's Kai. A son of Hades.", I managed to speak as Amadeus just gave me a suspicious look.
"That's obvious, my lady. I can sense his presence screaming the flames of the underworld since he approached you earlier. But seriously, he really isn't your---", I snapped in annoyance and cut off what he was about to say.
"He's not! Alright? Will you quit whinning?", I exclaimed in frustration at pagkatapos at napayuko nang mapagtanto ang kahihiyang nagawa.
By the gods of Olympus. Ano nalang ang sasabihin ni Kai.
"Chill, my lady. Why so defensive?", pang-aasar pa ni Amadeus habang tinatawanan ang naging reaksyon ko like a total idiot.
I hissed at him bago dahan-dahang binaling ang atensyon kay Kai.
"We better get going.", Kai sternly declared at nagsimula nang maglakad paalis.
Dali-dali nalang akong sumunod sa likuran niya habang si Amadeus naman ay nakasunod din sakin. Is he mad because of what I said?
"I wonder where---uhm Sev is?", dalawang-isip na tanong ko nang sumabay ako kay Kai sa paglalakad. Ang bilis niya pang maglakad as I heard him groan in annoyance.
"He's probably waiting at the end of this bloody labyrinth by now.", he answered. Nagtaka naman ako dun.
"How about you? Bakit ka natagalan?", Oops. Wrong move Ahlkria. Kaagad akong tinapunan ng masamang tingin ni Kai dahil sa tinanong ko sa kanya as his jaw clenched and his sharp eyes ablazed with purple fire.
"I hate this place.", he muttered in a dangerous tone kaya tumahimik nalang ako at nagpatuloy kami sa paglalakad.
We were following a series of passages. Halos mahilo ako sa nagtataasang mga walls, dagdag narin na kanina pa kami paikot-ikot dito. I'm not even sure if we're getting somewhere.
