PENELOPE

"I'm sure Sev already figured everything out back at the academy. Sana nga ay ayos lang silang lahat dun. And the other teams, I hope they're in a much better shape than we are right now.", rinig kong sambit ni Aeodysus sa gilid ko habang hinihingal. We didn't really have the time of our lives since we got transported away from the academy, and here's why.

Napadpad kami sa Liberty Island, New York that almost shocked the hell out of us. The next thing we knew, time suddenly froze around the seven continents in the mortal realm na isa na naman sa mga kagagawan ni lord Chronos.

Then... Sapientia, Sev's animalis guardian unexpectedly came to us, delivering a scroll na galing kay Sev, informing our Epsilon Team about everything that's currently happening around the realm and that we had to finish the Olympian Tournament and retrieve whatever those artifacts are.

Anyways, I drained almost half of my energy when I forced myself to execute a transportation spell that my father, the Greek god of travel, Hermes taught me once during my studies back at the House of Hermes in the academy. Pasalamat talaga ako at gumana at dahil dun, nakarating kami sa Crete kung saan kami inatasan ni Archsev para hanapin yung hidden artifact with the rest of the Epsilon Team. Malas lang sa'min kanina, we got attacked by a herd of Cretan Bulls---or so we thought, until they turned out to be a group of mythical creatures called Catoblepas.

Catoblepas are bull-shaped creatures in the myths whose downward-hanging face, once lifted could kill with a gaze or with dangerous toxic fumes from its breath. We had to fight-off a whole herd of it earlier na hindi naman namin alam kung saan talaga nanggaling kaya marami-raming sugat yung natamo namin mula sa kanila.

"W-Where to now, c-captain?", one of our teammates asked while being treated from her wounds by our team's healer.

"The rest of you should rest first. Delikado pag-nagpatuloy tayo na sugatan ang halos lahat ng mga kasama natin. Crete is mysteriously filled with dangerous creatures roaming around its lands for some unknown reason. Hindi maubos-ubos ang mga nilalang dito. I heard of these strange reports about a couple of days ago while we were still in our training back at the academy.", saad ni Aeo as he suddenly held my right arm na ikinagulat ko, and fixed the bandage on my wound. He smiled as his piercing set of orange eyes gleamed while staring into mine. Kaagad akong napaiwas ng tingin as I felt my cheeks burn in awkwardness.

"Captain.", kaagad kaming napalayo ni Aeo sa isa't-isa nang bigla siyang tinawag nung isa sa mga members ng Epsilon Team. I immediately stood-up and cleared my throat.

And what artifact could it be?", maging ako ay napaisip din sa tanong ni Meila. I roamed my eyes around the place, the sun already set about a few minutes ago kaya medyo madilim-dilim na ang buong paligid.

As far as I'm concerned, I'm pretty sure that there were more mythical monsters roaming at night so we needed to keep our guards up lalo na't nasa iisang lugar kaming lahat. This old ruin of an ancient temple na kung saan kami nakatago ngayon cannot mask the scent of our ichor-induced blood from our parental deities.

There were some strange pieces of rocks that were scattered on top of it pero hindi ko ito masyadong makita dahil medyo malayo. Later then, I decided to approach it para mas mapagmasdan ko ito as my eyes widened when I realized what it was.
