"Valerie.." Andrew loudly called as I was lost looking at how gorgeous Amanda was.
"Yes." I replied then turned to him.
"What's taking up your mind?" he asked like as if he cares.
"Nothing." I said with a slight smile. Andrew looked more than curious to know what was on my mind, or it was worry that I might do something he thinks is stupid.
"Mr McAvoy........" Andrew with a lot of pleasure walked towards my father.
             "Andrew." My father happily shook
hands with Andrew.
"You have done a great job here." Father said to Andrew.
"I should be thanking you for all the help." Andrew humbly said. I looked at the two proud men, so disgusted, I felt more suffocated.
"Father," with a smile I moved towards them.
"Valerie," he said with a smile.
"Am so proud of you." he happily said touching me slightly on my shoulder.
I knew he was proud of me, I have endured to be married to the man of his dreams from his dream family for this long, my fashion designs have become one of the most influential around, I have become one of the most best relayed on business ladies in international exports and imports and as a great assistant director in Andrew's sports stars managing company. Yet him being proud was not what I wanted to hear.

"Thank you." I said back with a smile.
"Mr Andrew Smith." the master of ceremonies called him up to the front to give a speech. The crowd began to clap as he moved proudly before them. Since we arrived at the party, this was the first time I have to be apart from Andrew, I felt like I could slightly breathe. The light in the audience were dimmed and this was my time to shine.
I hurriedly moved close to where Amanda was
"Amanda.." I breathed out almost like a whisper.
I held her hand leading the way out, much as she was angry with me, she silently followed along.
I led Amanda to behind the building, it was so silent, only fountain water making sound. Everyone was inside caught up with whatever Andrew was saying.
Amanda pulled herself away from me angrily.
"You run each time things fall out of place just like now." she shouted angrily.
"I have been seeing you so uneasy the entire time, much as you can lie to the world, you can't lie to me." she added angrily.
                "Amanda, am sorry...."
"Help understand how it's so easy for you to kiss Andrew and not easy to kiss me." She yelled so angrily and out of breathe.
"ME!!!, Valerie,  the one that love...."
I didn't give her chance, I leaned in forward joining my lips to her's.
She held me tight as our lips rolled.

"Valerie..."  Andrew called loudly, this caused us to split immediately.
"It's Andrew, go now before if he finds you." I panicked
Amanda was looking at me with a lovely smile.
              "Amanda...." I called so worried.
But Amanda's smile brought a smile to my face as well. I smiled at her as well.
"I will go only because you have asked me but don't forget I love you more than he does." Amanda said happily then walked away.
"Valerie.." Andrew called standing at the front door. Just from the face impression, I knew he was angry.
"Am sorry, I just wanted some air." I humbly said walking towards me.
"VALERIE!!!!!" He grabbed my hand tight on reaching him. His grip was tight and painful.
           "Andrew.. You're.."
He pushed me to the door frame hardly.
            "Andr....."
His hand was already in my neck hardly pressing me against the door frame yet at the same time strangling me.
"I warned you before we arrived here to not annoy me." he angrily said through his teeth. All his energy was on me, I was out of breath, it was so painful, tears in my eyes, my both hands trying to let go of his grip.
"And..rew....." I tried to call out.
"I made it clear that I want you to keep it together." He tightly strangled me.
            "Am...sorry .." I cried out breathless.
He threw me down to the ground and I slid down to the second steps of the building, I was struggling for air, my hands on my paining neck, tears flowing out, with great pain of having  fallen down on my left ankle.
Andrew walked towards me  squatting down close to me.
"Valerie love, I want you to go to the bathrooms and organise yourself so that we can go back there and you give a speech about the money we are going to donate, that's what everyone is waiting for." He calmly said with a smile.

I forced myself up slowly, my ankle I could no longer feel, apart from great pain, my neck.
I began to leap my way to the bathroom
"Don't leap you will cause unnecessary attention." he ordered.
Like always I stood straight, swallowed my pain and began to walk. Andrew slowly walked behind me to when I entered the bathroom and he waited outside.
I wanted to burst out and cry but the bathroom was occupied by some other ladies,
"Mrs Smith." one of them called.
"Mrs Johnson " with a smile I called as well. She is one of the ladies I have worked with in fashion.
"Who doesn't envy you, you have the money, beauty, fame and not to mention, the most loving husband." Mrs Johnson said.
"We all admire having such a marriage." the other ladies agreed.
Much as I wanted to cry, I laughed along with them.
"Thank you." I smiled brightly. I began to organise my make up with the ladies, much as they said a lot more I just smiled at them.
I led the way out and they followed behind, I joined Andrew who was still outside waiting for me, he put his hand forward and tightly I held it and back to the party we went.
Everyone was waiting for us, I moved straight to the front.
"Am sorry for the delay," I said with a smile,
On a lot of pain from the ankle I was standing on but more pain in the heart, if someone looked into my eyes they could see my held up tears.
I spoke a lot that people enjoyed but none of them made sense to me, it just makes it out of my mouth, the practiced lies, nothing much to think about.

"Above all I would like to thank my supporting family, more so my supporting, loving and caring husband." I said my face hurting on how much I forced to maintain the smile and with hold the tears.
"My husband Andrew has done a lot to make sure that this fundraising takes place and put in all for this donation, I love you Andrew." I finally  concluded my speech.
