Jungkook's parents were both alphas and were both famous surgeons in Korea. Jungkook was born into a family that knew only to compete with the other. Even from a small age Jungkook was trained to think like a surgeon. It was no surprise that his parents felt proud of him only when he did something extraordinary. So was it really a surprise when the young alpha grew up to be an arrogant, rude but a brilliant neurosurgeon at Seoul Hospital?

Jimin is an omega. He was from a normal loving family. He worked hard to reach his current position of being a remarkable cardiovascular surgeon at Seoul Hospital.

Jungkook and Jimin personally had no idea of each other but they disliked each other. Why? It was all based on pointless rumors. Rumors of Jungkook being an arrogant ruthless and heartless surgeon who got in because of his alpha status and parent's backing just didn't sit well with Jimin while Jungkook disliked the omega for being an omega and hearing rumors about the boy that Jimin was a pushover. Jungkook felt it unprofessional of a surgeon to be taken advantage of, so often.

It all started because one day, Jimin had said no to going to the hospital meeting, which involved a possible integrated non emergency surgery between the two surgeons - as the omega had just finished a surgery and wanted to rest. Jungkook hated the omega's guts to turn down a chance for a collaborated surgery in the future and Jimin hated the alpha's ego - Jungkook had announced at the meeting that he didn't want to work with an immature surgeon like Jimin

Basically they had no sort of interaction that was till their mutual patient - a 10 year old boy had to undergo neurosurgery and cardiac surgery at the same time. It was a complicated surgery and they were the best, no other doctor would even come close to their experience and ability to make quick decisions when things went wrong

Jungkook had just finished a 36 hour surgery when he was called for help. He scoffed when he heard that Jimin was going to be in there with him, but Jungkook knew when to keep professional hatred to himself when it came to saving the life of a patient.

Jimin was worried when he saw Jungkook had scrubbed in. The nurses had told him that the alpha didn't have any rest after the previous surgery. When Jimin's and Jungkook's eyes met from behind the goggles and face shields, they just nodded their heads at the other, not daring to say anything out loud

There was a tense atmosphere in the operation theater for a while, Jungkook asking the nurses for something at the same time Jimin did. The nurses didn't know whom to obey first but after a while the two surgeons came into a rhythm, once they understood the other's working style. Jimin would ask for things only after Jungkook asked for something and Jungkook knew not to disturb the omega when Jimin was in the zone

Suddenly the machines started going haywire - apparently the patient's blood pressure and oxygen saturation was decreasing. The two surgeons got into immediate surgeon mode, ordering nurses around them to do what was needed without either of them having to get into an argument

The nurses were impressed at the team work displayed by the two and their presence of mind, not to panic at that dire situation

Jungkook was impressed with the way Jimin handled the situation. He had assumed that the omega was weak and indecisive but the alpha was pleasantly surprised with Jimin's skills. Jimin was impressed as well, he thought Jungkook would probably make a scene in the room when things didn't go the way he wanted, but the man was pretty calm, contrary to what Jimin had heard about the alpha and Jungkook was quite level headed
