THIRD PERSON
"What about you, Ms. Granger? What exactly does your family do in the Muggle world?" Professor Slughorn asked the girl from across the dinner table.

Hermione looked around at the others surrounding her before dropping her spoon into her bowl of ice cream.

"My parents are dentists." Everyone got quiet, turning away in confusion, "They tend to people's teeth." Hermione explained kindly.

"Fascinating," Slughorn crossed his arms over the table, "And is that considered a dangerous profession?"

Y/N turned to Harry, "Do they not know what dentists are?" She whispered with a slight cringe, "Surely wizards care for their teeth too, right?" She asked him.

Harry just smiled and laid his hand on her thigh, knowing it wasn't a great time to laugh.

"-one boy, Robbie Fenwick, did bite my father once. He needed ten stitches." She laughed to brighten the mood.

But instead everyone paused, Blaise stopped eating, sending her eyes before returning his focus to Y/N.

He had been staring at her all night and Harry noticed but thought nothing of it. He knew everyone was attracted to her and he had to get used to it someday.

When in actuality..

Ten minutes before supper

"Keep an eye on Dixon."

"Why?"

"Just do it. It's very important to me- to someone that she's doing the right thing."

"What's the right thing?"

"You'll know if she does something wrong."

"But how will I know if-"

"Stop asking me questions, Blaise. For God's sake, just trust me. And tell me everything."

Present time

Hermione's awkward laughter faded away as everyone else moved on.

Then, Slughorn chose to speak up again, "Well, Ms. Dixon, how are your parents?"

Neville, who was eating his ice cream, nearly choked at the question. Harry awkwardly looked down at the table and slid his hand a tad bit higher on her thigh, squeezing it gently.

"My parents are dead," Y/N harshly stated before picking up her spoon, "soo.." She ate a chunk of her ice cream as it got quiet.

"I'm awfully sorry, Ms. Dixon, I had no clue.." Slughorn apologetically voiced over the silence.

"Yeah, well," Y/N shrugged, "Now my boyfriend and I are twins so-" Harry shoved her shoulder, shaking his head.

Everyone turned to the door as it opened, revealing Ginny in a black, sparkly, dress. Y/N was unintentionally staring, wondering why she was so late.

"Ah, Ms. Weasley, come in, come in." Slughorn greeted her.

"Look at her eyes." Hermione whispered to Y/N who was still staring, "They've been fighting again, her and Dean."

Ginny approached the table, just now catching Harry's attention who was fiddling with the hem of Y/N's shirt. He looked up and smiled at the ginger before going back to what he was doing.

"Sorry. I'm not usually late." Ginny explained herself.

Y/N abruptly stood, making Ginny turn to her, "Ginny. Hall." She walked over to the girl and led her out for a talk.
