I pushed open the gate for me and Charles, waiting for him to walk in, after which I carefully shut it.

"So, where do you think Addie and Irene are?" I asked him.

"I'm not sure. Though, what I do know is there is a play area near the woods. But ideally, I think we should just call them and find out."

I nodded and pulled out my phone, searching for Addie's contact.

Two rings later she picked up.

"Hello?"

"Aunt Kimmy! Where are you?" Wait a minute...

"Irene? What are you doing with your mum's phone?" I asked. A smile growing on my face.

"Oh, nothing! I just picked it up because you called. Do you want to speak to mommy?"

"Not really, I just wanted to know where you are. We're at the park now, but I can't find you."

"Oh! Yeah we're at the play area, I can see you now. Can you see me? I should be on your left... No! Your right!"

I turned to my right, and sure enough, there was Irene waving like a wild person.

I waved back, cut the call and pointed her out to Charles.

"She's so cute!" He said.

I laughed.

"She is, isn't she? Come on! She's going to lose her arm if we don't get there fast."

Charles laughed.

Halfway to the play area, I got assaulted by a pair of little arms.

"You're here! Hi uncle Shal!"

Charles grinned at her cute greeting.

"Hi Irene!"

I bent down and picked Irene up.

"Hey, there!" I grinned at her, rubbing her nose with mine.

She giggled.

"That tickles!" She squealed.

"So, what did you do today, sweetie?"

She grinned mischievously and then proceeded to explain all that she did in detail.

"That was so cool!" I exclaimed once she was done.

"I know! But, come see mommy now!" She said, jumping out of my arms.

She grabbed my and Charles' hands and led us to the solitary bench at the play area.

"Hey, Addie!"

Addie looked up from her phone. Dark circles underlined her eyes and she looked awfully exhausted.

"Kim! Charles!" She yawned.

Charles scrunched his eyebrows at her.

"Are you okay, Addie?"

"Yeah! I'm fine. Just a little tired."

Irene frowned at her. Then she gestured for me to come closer.

I obliged.

"What's up?" I whispered.

Irene giggled and rubbing her ear, before cupping her hands around her mouth, and whispering very loudly.

"I think mommy's sick, Aunt Kim. Can you help her?"

I frowned.

"Really?"

Irene nodded.

"She was coughing a lot yesterday. And she was very warm. I think she has feevee."

Feevee? Oh! Wait, what?

I looked at Irene. "Let's grill your mum."

I winked at her and received a blink back. I couldn't resist chuckling. Irene was too cute.

I picked Irene up again, and she snuggled into me.

"You're so warm!" She said.

"Thank you," I chuckled out.

I turned to Addie.

"Irene is so adorab-" I froze.

Standing behind Addie was Papa.
