The Nameless One (Flashfiction)

I never thought I would do this, but here I am standing at the foot of the mountain. Prepared to risk my life for people I don't even know.
What is wrong with me? Am I strong enough? Will I stand a chance?
A thousand questions batter me, each leaving me more scared than the last. I can't take it any longer, I prep myself for the climb.
The last one of my life.
Nothing can save me now, I'm on my own.
Miracles don't exist here.
Heroes are unheard of.
Good and evil don't exist.
Only the strongest survive.
I begin to climb, fear pulling at me. Each step bringing me closer to the top, closer to my end. My memories consume me, tears begin to roll down my cheeks, as I remember my old life. Life before I was the Nameless One.
