📖 Excerpt from CLUELESS (unpublished)

Summer of 2002
(6 years old Jennie and 5 years old Chaeyoung)
"Jennie, sweetie, do you mind playing with the Park's daughter over there?" Mrs. Kim asked her daughter who, at 6 years old, had her face buried on her Nintendo gameboy advance playing Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land.
"Uh, no thanks" little Jennie answered her mom
"Sweetie, that's not a question, it's an order" Mrs Kim told her daughter.
"Okay, fine" Jennie grumpily answered.
She dragged her feet to where the Park's daughter is. Playing tea party on her own.
'ugh!' she thought.
Not that she doesn't like to, it's just that it was too much for her. She prefers games like she usually plays with Jisoo. And that doesn't include talking to inanimate objects and to an orange fish.
"Hi!" The little girl greeted her enthusiastically.
"Hi" she said squinting her eyes, looking at the girl who literally shines brighter than the afternoon sun with her yellow flower dress.
"Would you like some tea?" She asked in her cute aussie accent.
"I'm good" and flash a fake gummy smile.
"My name is Chaeyoung! I'm five. How about you?" The little girl asked.
Little Jennie just looked at her. She's too, uh... How could a six year old little girl described it? Oh yeah, happy.
She's too happy and bright, Jennie thought that all of her late night cookie sneak-up has been forgiven.
"Don't you like to be my friend?" Chaeyoung asked sadly pouting.
And it only took our Little Jennie a little above 0.5 miliseconds to be whipped for the little girl in the bright yellow dress. Like who in their six year old mind would be?
"Oh... Uh. I'm Jennie! Please don't cry!" She said waving her hands frantically as if it would prevent the girl from bawling.
"Can I call you Nini?" Chaeyoung asked excitedly.
Jennie cringed at the made-up nickname and there is no way she's going to let this cute girl call her whatever she wants.
"No, that's an ugly name" she said.
And oooh Jennie has never been scared for her life. Chaeyoung's tears are swelling near her eyes and Jennie thought that for a second she saw it twinkle.
"You're mean" Chaeyoung said and from any second now she's going to cry.
"No, I'm Jennie" Jennie said.
Weirdly she finds the little girl cute when she's like all pouty and teary, so she's trying to tease her more.
"It's okay Chaeyoungie, Jennie is shupid" she told herself.
"What did you just call me?" Jennie asked.
She knew Chaeyoung meant 'stupid' and it's a very big word for a kid and is considered as a very bad word in the preschool community.
She isn't mad. And she finds it odd since the kid just called her stupid, if it was Jisoo or any kid in preschool she would already throw a fit or worse she might punch someone already. However, this new kid looks cute in everything she does and Jennie is being a whipped six-year-old kid.
"Shupid" Chaeyoung answered.
"Do you know that it's a bad word? And it's stupid not shupid" Jennie tried to lecture the girl.
"Saying shupid makes it not a bad word" Chaeyoung said.
She reasoned out but it looks like she's going to cry for real after realizing that she just said a bad word to a new friend and that now the new friend will not play with her.
'oh, she's smart' Jennie thought amused.
"You're weird" Jennie said.
"No, I'm Chaeyoung" she answered glaring cutely at Jennie.

For those who didn't know, CLUELESS was my very first story here on wattpad. I unpublished it due to lack of ideas and I don't know how the story would go 🤧
So, since I won't be republishing it anymore, I'll post bits of it as entries here (◍•ᴗ•◍) hope you enjoy.
