In the corner of her room, Rosie buries her head beneath the pages of her Geometry book. She sighed for the nth time today, she wants to focus on reviewing but there are other things that keeps messing her head.
She sighed again while taking off her glasses and leaned on the backrest of her swivel chair closing her tired eyes and shutting everything around her to rest her mind. She needs focus but it seems that fate isn't on her side today.
"I know you're thinking of me, but can you please stop sighing?"
Rosie almost jumped in surprised when she heard that familiar cocky voice. She turned her swivel chair and pinched the bridge of her nose with her eyes close.
"I still want to live the rest of my life with you"
The girl on her balcony said. Rosie rolled her eyes because of what the girl said.
"What are you talking about?" She asked.
"Sighing takes at least a minute of your life. I don't want you to sigh too much because I still want to get married and have kids with you"
The girl confidently said. Park Chaeyoung scoffed.
"And who told you that I'm going to marry you?" Rosie asked with annoyance.
"I just know... I know you love me and we will end up with each other just like I told you when we were kids"
A childish past flashed into Rosie's mind that made her scrunched her face in disgust.
"I'm not even interested in you. Isn't it clear that I hate you to the moon and back?"
"Rosie, you can't fool me. I remember you crying when I don't show up on our play date, when we were kids. You cried when I got married to someone else in a playhouse wedding" Jennie said as she walked inside the room and stopped in front of Rosie's bed.
"I don't remember?"
"Meanie. I'm going to take back all the stuffed toys I gave you every Valentines, Birthday and Christmas!" Jennie said.
"Yah you can't!" Rosie shouted.
"Why can't I?! You don't like me! I'm going to take it back!"
"No return, No exchange! Store policy!" Rosie is just screaming nonsense.
"Then No retreat, No surrender! That's my policy!" Jennie shouted back.
"You're not making any sense!" Rosie said.
"It means I will never give up on you, stupid!"
*knock *knock
The two froze and stop their bickering and glued their eyes to the door. Suddenly it swings open and Rosie's Mom peeked in.
"Roseanne, baby why are you being so loud?" Rosie's mom asked.
"Good evening Auntie!" Jennie greeted enthusiastically.
"Oh, hello there Jennie. Did you climb the tree again?"
Rosie's mom asked narrowing her eyes at Jennie Kim, because she didn't remember opening the door for their neighbor's daughter.
"Eh... hehehehehehe" Jennie answered with an awkward laugh while she scratch the back of her neck.
"This girl... I told you to use the door. What if you fell? You might get hurt" Mrs. Park said, lecturing their neighbor about safety.
"Then I'll threw a party" Rosie whispered but Jennie heard it.
"Auntie! Rosie's being mean"
"Baby... be nice to Jennie"
