on the way to Caroline's, Kiara informed her that she was gonna try asking for money for a lawyer for John B, hoping the two girls' Kook families will be able to help them and find a way to bring John B back home and finally get the truth out about what happened that day. that was all they wanted, for things to be how they were a year ago and didn't have to worry about stuff like this and worried about the next day would bring them to.
Caroline walked into the house shutting the door listening for her parents, she set her stuff down looking around when she heard little pads of feet running over to her. she smiled seeing her little brother kneeling down hugging him tightly as she placed her hand behind his head shutting her eyes.
"you're back!" Matty giggled.
"i am." she laughed blinking away her tears, "where's mom and dad?"
"outside! come on!" he grabbed her hand as she stood going outside with her brother.
"mommy! daddy! she's back!" Matty cheered, Melissa and Zachery quickly turned their heads seeing their daughter.
"honey, go inside. we have to talk to Caroline." Melissa asked her son, he nodded running back inside to the couch where he was playing video games.
"where the hell have you been?" Melissa asked once Matty was inside.
"i'm sorry, i didn't have service and the truck broke down, i tried texting but nothing went through." Caroline explained playing with her fingers.
"ever heard of a payphone?" Melissa placed her hands on her hips.
"i didn't see one around." Caroline said, Melissa scoffed while Zachery stayed silent.
"John B's back, he got caught, so Kie and i were planning on getting some money to get him a good lawyer." she added twirling the ring on her thumb JJ had given her a month or two ago.
"so you come back just to ask for money?" Melissa asked anger laced in her voice.
"no. i have the money, i'm not asking you guys for money, but i'm asking for your guys' help on saving John B." Caroline hoped her parents would agree to helping.
they basically watched Caroline and John B grow up together when they lived in the cut.
"he got himself into that mess, i want no part of it." Melissa shook her head picking up plates from the backyard.
