"guys, the thing that Limbrey said, i don't think she meant to let it slip. she said the key leads to the Cross of Santo Domingo." Pope broke the silence in the twinkie catching everyone's attention.
"wait. can i see that?" JJ reached over resting his arm on Caroline's head.
Caroline's eyes moved up to her head as Pope handed the key to JJ when she felt a small nudge, she turned to her head grinning at JJ.
"are we supposed to know what that is?" Sarah asked.
"i'm guessing it's some sort of historical artifact of great importance." Pope explained to Sarah.
"well, according to the interwebs, it was a gift from New Spain to the Spanish king." Kiara read off her phone.
"new spain? is there an Old Spain?" JJ asked looking at John B and Caroline.
the two looked him with furrowed brows, Caroline chuckled grabbing the key from John B looking at it again.
"shit, talk about over-gifting. look at that thing. looks like a person standing next to it." Kiara turned her phone showing the picture.
"so it's a giant-ass cross." JJ stated.
"it was widely considered at the time to be the most extravagant tribute ever from the provinces. it was lost off the coast of the Bermuda in 1829." Kiara finished looking up confused.
"did you just say the Bermuda?" JJ asked.
"oh, no, not the triangle." both Caroline and John B told the blonde knowing he was gonna explain everything about it.
"it always leads back to the triangle, dude. like every single time something's weird, it's Bermuda." JJ told the two.
"how exactly?" Caroline looked at him.
"it does, i'm right, i know, i am." JJ informed his girlfriend.
"but how exactly?" John B turned to his best friend.
the three silently debated on JJ's theory until the car stopped outside the nursing home where Pope's great-grandmother was living. JJ hopped out of the car opening the door for everyone as Pope climbed out followed by Kiara who was quickly stopped.
"hey, actually, i think i'm gonna do this one by myself." Pope said, Caroline looked at the two confused followed by everyone else who were also confused.
