"Wow! Is this where you live?!" Matteo stares up at the Plaza one of New York's nicest hotels.

I smile down at him, "no this is the plaza. It's a hotel." He still looks confused.

"Hotels are buildings with a bunch of rooms in them that people can buy for a night or however long they need." He nods in understanding still admiring the huge building.

"Why are we here?"

"My mates aren't exactly happy with me at the moment so I thought me and you could spend some time together in a happy environment." He nods his head in understanding and we enter the hotel his reaction to the inside even funnier than the outside.

We get our room and he even admired the elevator we go up in. When it starts moving he gets scared and grabs my hand.

"Have you never been on one before?." He shakes his head scared clinging to my hand.

"It's okay, it's called an elevator, it can go up and down and is going to bring us to our room." I point to the inspection information and show him what everything means before the elevator dings and opens up to an extravagant hall. He continues holding my hand and I smile to myself opening our door with my free hand. I let him in first and he rushes in excited kicking off his shoes and dropping his bag jumping on the round bed.

"I'm. On. A. Cloud." He laughs rolling on the bed. I laugh watching him and take off my stuff pooping down on the other round bed running my hands over the gold blankets and admiring the skyline through the huge window. I motion for Matteo to come look and he runs over jumping on the bed next to me jaw dropping as he sees the skyline.

"Thank you." He says smiling out the window.

"No need for thanks. I'm glad you're here." I lean over and grab the hotel book with the room service number and menu. We look over it and decide to get a bunch of different things because he's not sure what he really likes. He's knows he likes pasta so I make sure to get dishes with pasta but also foods he's never heard of.

"So how was your time at shield." He looks confused for a moment shoving cake into his mouth.

"The place I met you." He nods his head swallowing his bite before answering.

"It was fine I guess. I wasn't really allowed to go anywhere except that room and a couple others on that floor. I was scared mostly and it wasn't their fault, just.. you know.. everything." I nod listening to his every word. Though he doesn't know what certain things are he's so smart and curious. After eating way more than we should've I suggest we explore the hotel.

"And do what? Aren't there just rooms here?" I shake my head.

"They've got all types of fun things to do especially in a nice hotel like this. Do you know how to swim?" He shakes his head.

"Do you want to learn from the goddess of the sea herself?" I say dramatically embellishing my words.

Matteo jumps off the bed and goes for the door.

"Hold on! Let me change and then we'll stop at the gift shop to get you one." He nods and I utter, shield imagining what bathing suit I want.

I grab my stuff and a couple towels and we head to the gift shop

I grab my stuff and a couple towels and we head to the gift shop. I let him pick out which one he likes best promising to take him shopping. He changes in the bathroom and we head to the indoor pool. The lifeguard waves to us and we wave back putting our stuff down and going into the pleasantly empty pool.

We walk in the shallow end so he can get used to being in water at first. And I start with teaching him how to doggy paddle and then holding his body up while he tries to find a comfortable way of swimming. When he gets a little more comfortable we move a little deeper and I stop helping him as much but still make sure to watch his every move.

"Good! You're a natural Matteo!" He smiles after successfully swimming underneath the water by himself.

"I like swimming!" He says out of breathe from holding it.

"Me too." I smile. He looks unsure as we float next to each other.

"What's on your mind?"

"You said you're a siren right?" I catch on to what he's really trying to ask.

"Stay on the shallow end so I don't have to worry as much." He nods his head and eagerly backs up. I sink underneath the water and shift into my siren form. I swim over to him slightly struggling in the shallow end but I make do. I pop my head out of the water right in front of him and he laughs splashing me with water. I turn and splash water at him with my tail, we keep splashing each other until he's out of breath and a few people enter the pool area. I quickly shift back and they don't notice a thing. I wink at Matteo and he smiles holding a finger up to his lips.

We decide to get out and I notice the small group of 3 whispering and staring at us. Matteo notices them too as he self consciously covers himself with the towel. I rip mine off already knowing what the issue is and flaunt by them holding Matteos hand.

"Does she think she looks good with all those soul marks?"

"And she's passed her cursed onto the kid." I squeeze Matteos hand and move him past them glaring.

Once we're away from the pool area he stops and looks up at me, "so Marta and Ruben aren't the only ones who hate us."

"Unfortunately not. But it's because they don't have it. Pity them, for they'll never know the love we're capable of giving and receiving." He nods his head seemingly liking this answer and we continue walking back to our room.

I open the door and we each take a shower changing into something comfortable for bed.

My phone dings and I see a few missed calls and texts from my mates. I tell Sam that I'd be gone for the night and maybe tomorrow and not to worry about me before shutting off my phone and turning on The Goonies for Matteo and I.

Soon enough we fall asleep with the movie playing in the background. At some point durning the night I feel Matteo move into my bed his little body shaking. I hold him until he falls back asleep quickly falling asleep myself.

Sam POV
"She said she's going to be gone for the night and maybe tomorrow but Fury said she left Shield a while ago and finished her mission."

"Do you think she's.." Wanda says nervously dissolving with her fingers.

"Cheating on us? Fuck. Normally I'd say no, but she's been trying to fix things with us, trying to makeup for what she did. We've been pushing her away." Tony says biting his nail nervously.

"I-I said I considered leaving her." Stephen stutters.

"You what?" Bucky says clenching his fists.

"What's wrong with you?" Natasha shakes her head.

"She asked me! It was the truth! I quickly disposed of the thought but it did cross my mind!"

"We didn't even welcome her home." I say slamming my fists against the bedroom wall.

"It's Marianna we're talking about, she would never cheat on us." Peter (P) says gently, sad. Loki places a comforting arm around him and Peter leans into his arm.

"I agree with Peter, no matter how shitty of partners we've been, she would never." Loki says.

"Then what is she doing?" Pietro asks.

"We'll just have to wait and see."
