i'm currently at breakfast with the family. everyone's down here eating surprisingly. i mean we normally all come together as a family to eat but WITH BRONNY here too that's something to be proud of. me and darian been trying to be nice to him all morning so far because we know he's going to court now for some charges that can possibly have him either in juvenile detention or on house arrest for months. he's done hecka stuff.

mom smiles at us at the table, "ok kids me and your father have been holding back on telling you guys this" mom says until dad cut her off

"it was all her idea" dad says to us

"that we are having a family dinner today with your dads side of the family and mine" mom says with a smile

me and my brothers either don't react or give her a blank stare. "are you guys not excited?" mom asks

"i'm stoked" darian says as he continues to stuff his face

i smile to myself, "this family is just so fucked up i think it's a bad idea" i say

"yeah to bring dads side and your side together" bron says

darian raises his eyebrows at our parents, "you guys barely even get along what makes you think we all will?" D says

me and bron agree with d. our parents look at each other then back at us, "you guys haven't seen your cousins on my side in awhile so i agreed to this get together but i do know our families don't get along and that's ok it'll only be 2 to 3 hours long" dad says

i raise my eyebrows, "it's whatever to me i guess" i say

D finishes his meal, "i've got baseball practice early morning so don't have this last so long" he says

"and i've got court in the morning so i need to be up so i can pick out a nice suit or some" bron says

i accidentally laugh and it made d laugh too. my dad even snuck in a little chuckle, "yes with all those charges you have on you" mom says

"what did he even do?" d asks

"he recently set someone's house on fire while people were inside nearly burning them to death" mom says

i gasp and d's jaw drops, "it was an accident how many times do i have to say this?!" bron shouts

he's getting all angry now. "that's not what that ring camera said" dad mumbles

"oop-" i say

d smiles at bron, "dude... what the fuck is wrong with you?" d asks

"every. fucking. thing." bron says slowly with such anger in his tone. bron storms off right back upstairs.

i get a text from jules. saying 'i wanted to stay overnight so bad i miss you' i smile at my phone.

"jayden you've been really happy lately why?" dad asks

everyone's looking at me so i stop smiling. my mom is smirking at me cus she already knows, "i've just uhh... been happy lately just cus" i say

dad smiles slightly, "who's the special someone?" dad asks

d smirks at me. they're waiting for my answer, "i started talking to this girl almost a week ago and i kind of like her a lot" i say

d nudges me with a smile, "look at you being geeked up about a girl" he says

my dad smiles, "i'm happy for you and i can't wait to meet her" dad says

i smile, "she's gonna take me on a date soon so after that if it goes well you guys can meet her" i say
