The next morning, two calls were made from y/n's and Taehyung's apartment... the first's tone was pretend-sweet, despite the bitter, petty feelings.. almost pleading.. while the other was rather apprehensive and clouded with anger and self doubt...

"Why was she holding your hand as if confessing her undying love for you?"

"Huh?" Taehyung heard Jimin yawn on the other end of the line.

"You heard me, Jimin" Taehyung said.

"I'm half asleep, Tae-" Jimin said. It was true, Taehyung could hear his raspy morning voice.

"What's with you and y/n?" Taehyung whined, "she was holding your hand and talking to you with so much love in her eyes....Jimin, what are you doing?"

"I didn't do anything-"

"CARE TO EXPLAIN WHAT HAPPENED THEN?"

"If I was the one asking that question, I would've led with 'hey Jimin, good morning, did you sleep well?'"

"Yeah well, I'm not you, alright? I can't get away with the 'hyung-ification' of Mr. Big-guns-brother-in-law.. that guy was literally taking your side-"

"I'm sorry, what? Hyungi- what?"

"You called him hyung and he didn't even bat a single eyelash and when I called him hyung he literally humiliated me.."

"And what did you call him? Big guns brother in law?"

"Yeah.. he's big and broad and my future brother in law.. so..."

Jimin chuckled, "so you're gonna marry y/n?"

"You still have doubts about that?"

"For someone who has run away from relationships since forever, you sure are ready to commit for life.."

"I haven't always run away from them" Taehyung said.

"Your last relationship was in 9th grade..."

"That is-" Taehyung was about to defend himself.. he almost let Jungkook's name slip out of his mouth but then held himself back, "whatever. Im ready now, and I need you to stop sabotaging my plans-"

"Im not doing anything at all.."

"So what were you talking to her about?"

"Isn't y/n around? You're literally shouting.. I'm sure she can hear you" Jimin said.

"She sleeps like a baby" Taehyung replied, "the other day I dropped an entire shelf while preparing breakfast for her and she slept through all the noise.."

"She is a baby" Jimin chuckled and then cleared his throat, "I mean-"

"You really don't need to defend yourself anymore" Taehyung sounded tired.

"Did you not sleep well?"

"stop trying to change the topic" Taehyung whined, "please jimin.. what were you both talking about? Did I lose her already?"

"Taehyungie... you didn't lose anyone.. As for what we were talking about, I'm confused too.. but I promise to let you know as soon as I clear it up, okay?"

"So you don't know what she was talking about? Too lost in her eyes?"

"Yes- NO" Jimin said.
