"Andrew, h-how are you?" I stuttered.
"How am I? How am I?" He yelled.
"Calm down Andrew, shouldn't you be in Chicago by now?" I was still in shock.
"Yeah, I should be but the flight was canceled until tonight! Is this why you divorced me?" He pointed between me and Aaron.
Aaron clears his throat and puts on his 'A-game, "Addams, Y/n and I, we're on our first date. She would nev-"
I held my hand up, stopping him, "Thanks Hotch, I've got this...but he's right Andrew."
Andrew scoffs, "Well, you certainly move on quickly. Hearing you two say I love you on your first date? That's rich!"
"Andrew, how long were you gone? What was it? Two months. You left your daughter and your wife with no warning. You and I are no longer married, our 'marriage' was over the moment you left me at that fundraiser." I tried to derail the conversation.
Andrew grits his teeth, "That gives you no right to be a disgusting whore! This is bullshit, how long has this been going on? Is Grace even mine?"
I stood up and slapped him across his face, "You need to leave, now!"
As I stood up, so did Aaron, he was ready to take Andrew down.
Andrew rubbed his jaw and got into my face, not caring about Aaron's presence, "I knew you looked a little too comfortable around him. Your dance together at that ball and your legs across his lap. All the late nights and one too many cases! Maybe I should keep Grace with me full time? Who do you think the courts will side with? That's if she's mine, of course..."
My heart sank into my stomach, I tried to hold back my tears, "If you really want to try that game, go ahead. When it comes to my kid I don't play around. You think you've seen me angry? You ain't seen nothing yet, Andy!"
"Bye-bye Y/n, I'll see you in court!" He said walking back towards his rental car and waving to Hotch.
I sat back down, looked into Aaron's eyes, and began to cry. "I-I can't lose her! S-She can't live with him! He doesn't even have food in his fridge."
Aaron held me tight and rubbed my back, "I'm here, I'm here. It's going to be okay, babe. I won't let that happen."
"How? He's going to charm his way out of it! He's the exact definition of what a narcissist is." I hold onto Aaron so tight my knuckles turn into a different shade.
"And you have plenty of proof. When Derek and Rossi went to your house, they let me know what was going on. I made sure they took pictures of the place and we still have his little goodbye note. I also saw into his eyes and it looks like he's bluffing." He kissed my forehead and rocked me back and forth.
I was trying not to hyperventilate, "A-Aaron, can you take me home?"
"Of course, let me pay the bill and we'll be on our way."
Aaron did just that and drove us to my place, I really needed to move. I made a plan to spend all of tomorrow looking for a place to live. I was being extra clingy, I didn't want to let go of Aaron's hand. I wanted to just crawl up into a ball and cry.
"Come on Y/n, let's get you into bed." He looked at my red face and walked me into the house.
"I-I have to pick up Grace a-and-" I stopped in the hallway and clutched my forehead.
"Shh, babe, you can't drive right now. You're a wreck... how about I drive you to your sisters?" Aaron held onto my free hand.
"That's too much Aaron, I can't allow you to-" I tried to speak.
"Y/n Y/l/n, let me take care of you," he whispered in my ear.
"O-Okay, I'll let her know we're on our way." I walked towards the restroom to wash my face.
Aaron and I got into his car and drove to my sister's house. I knew Aaron was upset, he wanted to punch Andrew... maybe even more than punch?? When we arrived I had him wait in the car, I didn't want my sister to get the wrong idea... Well, you know what I mean. My sister of course knew something was wrong but I told her it was a conversation to be had without a child around. She nodded and said her goodbyes.
"Grace, I have a surprise for you!" I said, walking towards the car with a fake smile.
"Really?! What is it?" she jumped with excitement.
I whispered into her ear, "Why don't you go see who's in the car..."
I watch Gracie run-up to the car and scream, "Uncle Aaron!"
Aaron smiles at her and puts her into Jack's car seat, "Hey you!"
Can I just say my heart melted then and there?
"Alright, now let's head home! Hotch, can we stop at that cafe so I can pick up my car?"
"Of course," He smiles and squeezes my hand.
That night I had dinner delivered instead of me making food. Aaron insisted that I relax and not stress over dinner. Grace wanted Aaron's help with her math homework and loved every minute of it. I had to interrupt their homework fun when it was time for Gracie to go to bed. Luckily, she didn't put up much of a fight. When she left to tuck herself into bed Aaron held my wrist in his hand.
I turned around towards him, "What's wrong?"
He sighs and smiles, "What are you doing tomorrow?"
"I'm house hunting. I can't live here much longer." I frown, still thinking about Andrew's words.
"Good, I'm glad. Do you want me to come with you?" He pulls me into a hug.
"You'd probably laugh at the houses I'm looking at," I smile.
"Why do you say that?" He raises an eyebrow.
I spin around and gesture at the house, "This house was mainly Andrew's pick. I have more of a whimsical motif."
"Well, now I'm intrigued. Let me and Jack join you, please?" He tried to sway me with a smirk.
"Mmm, alright... but if you laugh at me you'll have to wait in the car. And the kids and I will have more fun than you," I poke his cheek.
"I love the sound of that." He gives me a big smile.
I chuckle, "The sound of what? You, waiting in the car?"
He tickled me a little, "No! When you said, 'the kids and I,' it just sounds right. You know?"
"Baby, it sounds really good, and we'll get there eventually. I wish you could sleepover, I don't want you to go," I whispered
"I know honey. How about when you get the new house? We can christen the place!" He winked and smirked.
My cheeks start to turn red, "You dog! However, I do like that idea. A completely fresh start and a new place for new memories."
"Exactly." He quickly pecks my cheek.
