I nearly fall first on my face as I trip down on a stone at my block's courtyard.

I hike my bag up on my shoulder with extra force and walk forward until I realise the back zip of my backpack was left open.

Letting out a frustrating noise, I stop near a bench and zip my bag pack.

I take a seat on the bench, holding my head in my hands,

Years ago I had already decided to not let people's words effect me. I had always protected myself by closing off my feelings.

So...why does it hurt so much when he didn't remembered me today?

He is like any other human who would forget any irrelevant people in his life, I shouldn't be so effected... but I am.

It's been so long that I had let people's words and actions effect me, but when he removed his glasses, my mind transported back to the time when I saw him for the first time.

He was a first ray of sunshine in my dark land.

Yet he didn't recognise me.

I smooth my hands over my flying hairs and take a deep breath,

This isn't my goal. My goal was never again to get hurt.

Feeling my phone vibrate, I take it out from my jeans pocket and frown looking at Housana's number.

I glance at the time, of course I was late. I was hurt by my physics professor that I burnt myself with extra work in library, and now it's already thirty minutes past five. Uni ended two hours ago.

"Salam housana." I greet her, "You can send-"

"Kızım." My heart falls in my chest as I hear her cry,

"W-what's wrong?" I ask dreading something worse, my finger tips already turning cold.

"Your baba." She cries, "He-he fainted, they took him to hospital."

Air gets knocked out of my lungs as I struggle to breath, "N-no. Not baba."

"Irhaa?" Housana calls my name, but her voice seemed too far to hear except my own frantic heartbeats.

Not my baba. Not my baba.

"Irhaa." I snap out of my panic, tears fall down my face.

"Onur is waiting for you at your college, he will drop you at hospital."

"I am coming, I am coming there." I hastily get up from the bench, taking my bag in my hand, I all but run to the gates of the uni.

"Pray for my baba." I say to housana, "Please pray he stays with me."

Onur uncle spots me and immediately takes my bag from my hand and makes me sit on the backseat.

"Don't worry Irhaa, your father will be fine. Inshallah."
