"30 miles from here" Howard spoke marking down on the map with Phillips and Peggy stood next to him
"Agent Lenoir!" Phillips called gaining her attention. She went towards them fixing her skirt "Colonel, Agent Carter" she greeted standing next to Peggy. Howard's head shot up looking at her direction to acknowledge who spoke before turning back to the map
His head quickly turned back up seeing the black haired woman stood next to Peggy while he slowly lean back up from the map. He checked her up and down but when his eyes landed on hers he knew he was screwed
"Stark?" Philips called seeing the man stunned. The ladies head turned to him seeing what made him quiet. Evelyn rolled her eyes seeing the unknown man staring at her, these men and their starring problems
Peggy gave her a smirk after Philips shook his head "Stark!" he called loudly finally snapping him out. He cleared his throat and straightened his posture "Howard" he smirked "Howard Stark" he added knowing the last name will ring a bell, it always does
But Evelyn never paid attention to anything but her job as an agent. The last name didn't ring a bell to her. She nods her head
looking down at his hand that's waiting to be shaken
Howard awkwardly place his hand back down to his side and glanced at her surprised she didn't even dare to shake his hand, "continue" Phillips spoke
"and 40 miles" he continued marking down the map again "over her-" "it's 20" Evelyn interrupted looking down at his marking. Howard nodded his head studying it before changing it to 20 alright, that was just one mistake he though
As he was about to write down she spoke again "20 west" she added looking at the map. Phillips and Peggy looked at the two with amusement on their face seeing the genius blushing hardly not knowing if it's from embarrassment or the fact that Evelyn was leaning so close to his side
Peggy cleared her throat making Evelyn look at her with confusion written on her face. Peggy looked at her then at Howard, Evelyn finally looked at her side seeing her face inches away from Howard
She quickly stood straight back up "would that be all?" she spoke looking at Phillips "sure" Howard spoke before she left them to go back to her desk. Howard watched her walk away a grin spreading across his lips seeing the way her hips sway on the tight skirt uniform "eyes back here" Peggy sternly spoke
After almost an hour, Philips thanked him and dismissed both him and Peggy. "Agent Carter" Howard called earning her attention "yes?" she asked "does agent lenoir have a first name?" he asked grinning "why don't you ask her yourself" she grinned back knowing well that Evelyn would only ignore Howard even if he introduce himself
Howard nodded his head and made his way out looking for her. After he reached outside, he looked around finally spotting the woman that had him speechless
"Agent Lenoir" he greeted standing in front of her "Mr Stark" she greeted back "please call me Howard" he smiled at her making her nod "got a name?" he grinned at her
"I would prefer you calling me Agent Lenoir" she replied making his grin turn into a smirk "what you did back there was impressive honestly" he spoke again "it was just numbers" she respond avoiding his gaze to let him know she isn't interested on the conversation
"well not to me, you just corrected a genius" he smirked again. Evelyn let's out a small sigh fighting the urge to slap that stupid smirk off his face "thanks" she nods ready to leave but he grabbed her wrist
"give me a tour around the camp?" he asked giving her his panty dropping smile that did nothing to her "aren't you smart enough to figure the place out yourself?"
"well I'd like a company" he smirked again "then find someone else to bother, I'm not interested" she responds giving him a sarcastic smile that made him chuckle "why, afraid I'll make you nervous?" he asked winking at her
"why would I be, there's nothing to be nervous about a man who isn't interesting enough for my liking" she said crossing her arms "and what is your liking?" he asked raising his eyebrows "not you" she retorts walking away from him
Howard watched her walks away shocked by her last words, he cant believe a woman just said no to him. Everyone would die to have his attention yet she just turned him down letting him know she's not really interested
Even a person from far can hear the sound of Howard Stark's ego breaking from the first ever woman who just turned him down, Evelyn Lenoir
She's something else he thought
