Evy sat down on chair all by herself while staring into a distance when someone cleared their throat making her look behind her "Stark" she nodded her head on his direction. Howard nodded back and took a seat next to her
Evelyn looked at him confused but didn't said anything about it "uh, how are you" he nervously asked not knowing how he would comfort her but he still tried "Stark-"
"Evelyn please don't push me away even just today, I just want to help and to let you know that I'm also here for you" he confessed looking at her. Evelyn was surprised that there isn't any pick up line or stupid flirting words that came out from him
"I won't, I'm sorry if I kept pushing you away I just wanted to focus on trying to save this country like each one of us here"
"it's nothing to me" Howard chuckled but he knew to himself that he was very surprised when she, a woman kept turning him down. A awkward silence fell between them making both of them look around not knowing what to say
"how are you" Howard quietly asked looking back at her "honestly, awful. I don't know how to deal with it" she said giving him a small smile to hide her pain but her eyes failed to "Its gonna be okay. I know how hard it is but it will get better"
"thank you" she mumbled. Howard sighed nervously before scooting closer to her and pulling her into a comforting hug. Evelyn didn't know what to do, she just froze into the spot. But when Howard started rubbing her back, she finally let herself relax under his touch and slowly wrapped her arms around him making Howard smile "we're all here for you" he mumbled to her
After they pulled away, they gave each other a smile "thank you Howard" she said patting his hand "oh that sounds so amazing" he groaned smiling "what?" she asked confused "you calling me by my actual name" he grinned making her chuckle "don't get use to it"
"Mr Stark!" someone called earning their attention "the Colonel asked for you" the man yelled from distance. Howard stood from his seat and so did evelyn
"you gonna be okay?" he asked her "of course" she smiled at him before he started walking away "Howard" Evelyn called making him look back at her
"maybe your not so bad after all" she said making the man's eyes light up knowing that this might be the start of their friendship that he has been imagining for a while "maybe not" Howard smiled walking away

When evelyn was supposed to go back, soldiers were going in and out of the camp while some prepares the trucks. Evelyn had no idea what's going on but she's sure that there's one person who does
"What's going on?" Evelyn asked making Philips look at her "we're going after Schmidt" he quickly replied "then why do we don't have a plan?" she asked growing more confused as almost everyone is rushing around
"we do have a plan, you weren't just informed"
"excuse me?"
"Agent Lenoir like I said for countless times, this is a very dangerous one-"
"isn't that what we were all trained for? to save this country?"
Before Colonel Phillips could respond Peggy, Steve and Howard walked towards them earning their attention. The three talked while Evelyn turned to Steve
"why didn't you told me about this?" she asked "but Colonel said he would tell y-" Steve was interrupted by the man himself speaking to them
"Rogers you and your so called howling commandos will be leaving in an hour along with the other teams, Carter you and the other teams stay back until they call for a backup, Stark do whatever the hell you want" He commanded making Evelyn's eyebrows raise "Lenoir you'll wait with Carter" Evelyn spoke making everyone turn to her
"Agent, I told you-" Evelyn let's out a scoff interrupting him "to what, stay here while everyone out there lay their own lives? I'm well experienced and trained just like the rest of them why the hell am I not getting orders?" she asked annoyed. Philips held back his smirk after hearing her tell him that she's trained and experienced like the others in the camp, he knows she's much more experienced than them and she damn well knows that too
"Evelyn, I know how great of an Agent you are, everyone does-"
"then why are you not giving me orders?"
"you have to understand that its-"
"I'm an agent don't treat me like a kid who needs to be baby sat"
"for God's sake Natalia let me finish" he loudly spoke "you people needs to stop using my second name everytim-" she was cut off by a sharp glare from the Colonel
"okay go on" she smiled at him making Howard chuckle "I can't let you go out there knowing that your not in a very good state of mind right now" he calmly said
"are you saying I'm crazy?" she asked making him roll his eyes while the three chuckled "your still mourning, your not in the right mindset to go out there and fight"
"So is he" she said looking at Steve "this is what I was chosen for Evy" Steve replied convincing her "Evelyn take this situation seriously, I can't lose my favorite agent" Colonel Phillips admits "I'm offended" Peggy spoke
"thanks for the concern dad but I'm a grown woman who can take care of her own self" Evelyn grinned at him making him shake his head "your giving me a headache" he said walking away
"good" she smiled looking back at the three while they shook their head chuckling at the women's stubbornness "I'll see you before you leave" Evelyn nodded to Steve as he walked away with Peggy
"your okay with 'do whatever you want' thing?" she asked looking at Howard "the field is never my thing, my genius brain is enough help" he smirked. She wants to slap his smirk off from his face but she knew that he was right. Howard is the brain of this country and his two brains is a big help
"so, since you'll be staying here, wanna go out on a lunch with me?"
"the hell I am"
"you're gonna disobey the orders of the colonel?" he asked making her grin "he's used to it" she said walking away "I'm taking you out when you get back!" he yelled at her "then give me a good reason to agree" she yelled back smiling
Howard stood there smiling widely like an idiot he is watching Evelyn walk away from him "I think I found the one" he mumbled to himself "I think so too" Jarvis spoke appearing out of nowhere making Howard's soul leave his body "Jarvis your gonna be the cause of my death someday"
