"The fuck?" Evy asked to herself as she lazily stood up from her bed and wrapped her robe around her body "oh for heavens sake" she groaned when someone kept on knocking her door "what!" she yelled opening her door
The man flinched after she yelled at him "d-delivery for Evelyn Lenoir" he stuttered "I didn't order anything" she stated with scrunched eyebrows "it's addressed here and they are paid" he explained nervously while she glares sharply at him for waking her up early in the morning
Evy turned her eyes at his hand seeing him holding a bouquet of red and white tulips, the same one
howard gave her when he left. She rolled her eyes "thanks" she muttured taking them from him and shutting the door
she walked to her kitchen and moved them into the base that's placed on her table "knew it" she mumbled when a brown paper fell out from the bouquet
"how have you been? I do miss you sunshine. I know you're mad at me for what I did but I hope you understand, I'll see you very soon sunshine. Keep kicking ass!

"admirer my ass" she smiled to herself. She's mad at him for running away but she can't deny that she do miss him too
Evy went to her basement where most of her things are placed at. She pulled the drawer where she keep everything that she receive from howard "huh?" she mumbled seeing her and Steve's first ever photo together. A smile appeared on her lips remembering the exact time that it happened
"how do I look?" Steve asked with a small grin making Evy look up from the file on her hand "handsome as always captain" she smiled proudly at him seeing him wearing his army uniform that suited him well. Steve's cheeks turned into a shade of red from the compliment that he received from Evy
"thanks evy" he replied while adjusting his tie uncomfortably "here, let me handle it" she offered taking a step towards him. Evy was busy loosening his tie to notice that Steve was staring down at her and admiring every feature of her. He was instantly lost by the beautiful sight in front of him making a small smile creep up into his lips
a bright flash made their head turn seeing a man holding a camera. "Come on pal, you could've at least asked" Steve shook his head disappointingly "I'm sorry captain, they just told me that I need to take a photo of you" the man apologized. Steve let's out a sigh and placed his hands at his hips, a hobby that evy realized he always do whenever he's disappointed
"ask for my consent next time" the man nods nervously by the sudden change of his tone, "steve it's okay" evy smiled sweetly at him calming him down "please go" steve told the man
"you scared him" evy chuckled "he interrupted us" he replied defending his self "interrupted me loosening your tie?" she asked with a laugh "no, me admiring the beauty in front of me"
"such a charmer" she smirked at him. Steve pulled her by her waist to his side making her laugh "and you'll keep denying that you don't like each other?" bucky spoke walking in making Evy roll her eyes and placed her head down to Steve's shoulder
"what's that?" steve asked seeing him holding something on his hand, bucky smiled at them and hands Steve the photo that the man just took minutes ago "you're welcome" bucky grinned while the two look at the photo "you shouldn't have scared him, he did a great job" evy smiled staring at their photo
"yeah, looks like some in love couple shit" bucky spoke again earning a disappointed look from Steve after cussing making Evy and Bucky laugh "jeez, sorry" he teased
"the old man is looking for you Evy" bucky yelled walking away from them "gotta go" she smiled at Steve to follow Bucky
Steve pulled her back by her arm turning her around and quickly placing his lips on hers. Evy wrapped her arms around his neck deepening the kiss
"what's that for?" she asked after they pulled away and rested their forehead on each other "oh am I not allowed to do that now?" steve teased at her "you're so bold around me, you're never like this" she replied ignoring his question
"correction, WAS" he said in a low tone making her cheeks heat up from his deep voice "you did this to me sweetheart" he smirked placing a light kiss on her cheek "oh I'm glad to hear that" she smiled teasingly
"yeah?" he asked smirking. She only respond with a nod "you're really beautiful, you know that?" he said between kisses making her chuckle "I have to go Steve" she reminded him earning a low growl
"ugh don't do that" she groaned escaping his grip "why would I?" he asked knowing well what the answer is. She just rolled her eyes at him and placed a peck on his lips "I'll see you later captain" she smiled at him "I'll see you later sweetheart" he grinned
"oh for fucks sake Evelyn" evy cussed wiping her own tears that she didn't realize were flowing until she stopped zoning out "why the fuck am I crying?" she asked to herself when the memory was clearly a happy one
and it hits her again it's always a bittersweet feeling she feels whenever she remembers a memory of Steve or bucky. No matter how happy the memory is, she can't always escape the reality that they're gone and it pains her everytime
she have been alone ever since she was a child and it has been her trauma. She already lost Steve and Bucky she couldn't help but overthink that what if she also lose Howard? then it'll only be her and Peggy. The thought of losing the only two people that she have shattered her heart, the red room has done enough damage to her, she can't afford to face her traumas even more
"shit" she mumbled when her vision started becoming blurry and she started feeling dizzy. Evy held into her cabinet tightly trying to calm herself
"do it" the woman mouthed to her with a slight grin on her lips while Evy stood there with her right arm wrapped around her friends throat and the other placed firmly on its head. Evy nodded in response and didn't hesitate to snap her neck along with her head. The woman smiled at her proudly while she only looked down on her friends body without any emotion on her face. That's when the red room's trainer realized that she is the most ruthless of them all. She snapped her own friends neck without hesitation while the others chose to get punished than do the same thing
"no, no" evy mumbled when her chest started feeling heavy and she can no longer breath properly while cold sweats runs down her forehead "fucking stop" she mumbled to herself gripping on the cabinet with all the strength she has and tries to fight off her thoughts
It has been years since she escaped from the red room, she thought she had finally escaped her traumas ever since, but now she realizes that they are still there to haunt her. She just made herself believe that she have escaped for the sake of her peace but deep down Evy knew that there's no escaping from that reality anymore. It's a part of her and it will never go away no matter how hard she force it
