"Agent Lenoir!" Colonel Phillips yelled making her head turn to his direction "Colonel?" she asked after saluting him "we have to talk" he sternly spoke making her press her lips together in a thin line after a nod knowing by his tone that she's in trouble
The recruits from behind started whispering to each other when she told them to take a break before she followed Phillips
After she shut the door behind her, she stood in front of him anxiously not knowing what to expect "I cant believe this" he mumbled shaking his head making her eyebrow scrunched from confusion
"All I asked was for you to arrange and fix those god damn files, there was only 6 of them and you didn't manage to do it?!" he yelled making her flinch from his sudden outburst "but Colonel you asked me to handle the recruits after you pulled me from the fil-"
"The secretary of state needed it today! the secretary of state! you embarrassed me!" he interrupted "those files we're no longer my work after you told me I will handle the recruits and pulled me out from the-"
Evelyn tried explaining but he interrupted her again "I expected so much more from you. Not because your more than a soldier and your some spy from whatever the hell that room is called doesn't mean your any better than any of this soldier, being an ex assassin doesn't make you better than anyone else in here" Phillips said walking towards her
Evelyn stood there with pure shock and anger running through her. No one knew in the camp about her ugly past except Colonel Phillips and the people she was with before she joined the army
Tears were pooling her eyes after hearing all those words from him "you can yell at me all you want but you have no rights to talk about my past" she spoke through gritted teeth before walking out not caring if she piss him off even more
Evelyn sat down under a tent in the back of the camp letting her tears fall. She wasn't crying because she got yelled at, it was nothing to her, the tears that's running down on her rosy cheeks are tears of anger. A thing that she hates about herself, she cries when she's frustrated and angry
Quick flashback of her ugly past made it's way on her head making her grip the sides of the chair with her eyes focused down on the ground.
Sensing a presence from behind, she wiped her tears off and turn her head to look at the person standing behind her
"Steve" she quietly mumbled seeing him stood there studying her face "are you okay?" he asked shyly "I would say yes but I think you just heard some sniffs seconds ago" she smiled lightly making him do the same
He looked down at the spot next to her then back at her shyly asking if he can sit with her. Evelyn gave him a soft smile and nodded her head "rough day?" he asked after sitting next to her and fiddling with his fingers nervously
"yeah kind of" she mumbled "do you uh... want to talk about it? only if your comfortable, of course" he said looking at her "it's just Colonel Phillips and a few misunderstandings about some files" she spoke looking back at him "you sure?" he asked making her eyebrows raise
"what do you mean?" she asked "well I know your a very strong and independent woman and I don't think some small reason will make you cry" he explained. His eyes quickly went wide thinking she got got his words wrong "I didn't meant tha-"
"he said some things a
bout my past which I never let anyone knew about and anytime I remeber it I just remember how much I hated myself" she interrupted him reassuring him that she knew what he meant
"Evelyn your past will never define you as a person, I'm sure whatever happened before was the things that you never wanted to happened. Hating yourself won't change it and to me your an inspiration, you are a very passionate and strong woman who deserves respect" he softly said giving her a kind smile
Evelyn smiled back at him not knowing what to say, she never met someone so kind after meeting them for a day. Steve is the kind of man that every woman deserves to have whether as a friend or a partner and she's really thankful to have him as a friend
"Thank you so much Steve, that really helped" she spoke pulling him into a hug. Steve's cheeks heated up from her actions making her chuckle seeing how he gest shy by small things "it was nothing, I need to find my sister though she's a nurse in here. You gonna be okay?" he smiled
"yes don't worry" she replied. Steve nodded his head and stood up giving her another smile before leaving the tent but he couldn't help but worry about Evelyn even though she assured him not to. He felt the loneliness of hers making his smile fell but a bright idea came to his mind
Few minutes passed, Steve let's out a sigh of relief seeing Bucky flirting with a nurse few steps away "hey buck!" he called gaining his attention
Bucky quickly smiled seeing his friend who's smiling like an idiot to him "what did you do now pal" he asked knowing that stupid smile "nothing, I saw Evelyn and talked to her, I know you guys are very close and she needs someone right now so I figured you'd want to be that someone"
Worry washed over Bucky knowing that Evelyn doesn't get upset easily except it's some big deal. He patted Steve's shoulder as a thank you before he went to find Evelyn
"hey Sergeant" Evelyn greeted with a smile that quickly melted Bucky's heart, whatever steve did or said to her might have been the reason she felt a little better seeing her smiling "no orders?" she asked "I'm not here for that" he respond "some naive kid told me just seconds ago what happened" he added earning a sigh from her
"come here doll" bucky opened his arms for her that she gladly accepted and wrapped her arms around him while he rubs her back and place a kiss on the top of her head knowing she would prefer silence better than to talk about her problems "its okay" he mumbled hearing sniffs from her
"you know what" he spoke pulling her head away from his chest to wipe her tears away with his thumb "I'm gonna bring you to our therapy" he smiled "buckyyy" she whined "what? you love it" he teased smirking at her
Evelyn let's out a chuckle giving in "there she is!" he smiled tucking her hair behind her ear "let's go" he said offering his arm for her to take. The two made their way out of the camp smiling like an idiots to their selves
Howard has been standing for a minute from far watching Evelyn and Bucky from the moment that he wiped her tears away until they walked away with a bag on his hand with lunch inside to give to Evelyn after Peggy told him that it's her lunch time
"Mr Stark what are we doing in here, the colonel himself didn't even called for us and for the love of god I'm gonna starve to death if we don't g-" Howard handed Jarvis the bag with a scowl on his face before heading back to their car "marvelous" Jarvis mumbled looking inside the bag
"that god damn Sergeant" Howard mumbled. He didn't know why he even brough lunch for Evelyn, she made it clear yesterday that she isn't interested to him and he isn't a man who court women, he doesn't even know how to but something is pulling him towards Evelyn like some kind of magnet that even the genius himself cant tell what
I know this is a Howard Stark story but its Bucky on the few chapters but trust me more Howard's chapters will be coming and come on who doesn't love a little love triangle between Bucky and Howard *wink wink*
