"Marge" Thompson spoke making Peggy turn to face them "what are you doing here?" Evy asked "Didn't I say only the men have to work overtime?" Jack asked, Evy rolled her eyes at him "I didn't mean to interrupt you enjoying the rewards of your promotion" Peggy gave him a small smile

Evy's eyebrows scrunched seeing Peggy gripping the bag hardly "why do you work here?" Jack asked

Evy let's out a scoff and turned to Jack "seriously? ask us the same question? what do you really want?" Jack turned to her glaring before turning back to Peggy

"To uphold democracy. Did you need a reminder?"

"But the rest of us get to do more than take lunch orders."

"what is it with you and the word lunch order, Thompson" Evy butts in

"You'll never know the thrill of learning whether or not Agent Yauch is in the mood for a club sandwich."

Jack chuckled at her "hmm. You're trying to hide something, Peggy. And the only one you're fooling is you" he stepped towards her seeing Peggy gripping the bag on her hand once again

Evy knew that Jack was right so even though she wanted to defend Peggy, she couldn't. She kept her gaze on the bag

"And what's that, Agent Thompson" Peggy reached for the doorknob seeing Evy's eyes focused on her hand so she tried calming herself down knowing how quick Evy can sense when something is not right

"The natural order of the universe. You're a woman. No man will ever consider you an equal. It's sad, but it doesn't make it any less true." He shrugged sitting down on the table as silence fell between the three of them

Evy turned to Peggy seeing tears pooling in her eyes, she took a sigh trying to hold back herself but she knew she shouldn't "no wonder your name is Jack" she spoke standing beside him "what?" he turned to her confused

"because you're nothing but a jackass yourself" Jack stood up from the table pissed "what did you just say" he said looking at her "oh now you can't hear properly" Evy chuckled "take back what you said Lenoir" he said taking a step towards her "or what" she challenge taking another step closer to him

"All I said is that your jackass who thinks so high of himself and knows nothing but to make sexist comments about us" she looked straight into his eyes

Peggy cleared her throat "I can always come to you for the truth" she sighed making them both turn to her "goodnight" she opened the door and left

"fucking asshole" Evy said before heading to the door "with a mouth like that? are you sure you're a woman?" he asked pointing his finger at her "don't you dare point your finger at me. I am a woman, I'm no sorry I'm not like the other woman out there who's afraid to do and say such things as men" she left slamming the door

"something is just not right" Evy mumbled to herself as she kept thinking about how Peggy's been acting weird and suspicious lately. She's hiding something, she knows it and Evy just wishes that it's not something that could ruin Peggy's life

She was unlocking her door when she saw a bouquet of pink tulips. A smile immediately went to her lips knowing well who it is from. "Damn you" she smiled widely picking up the bouquet and bringing it inside with her

She sat down on her couch with the bouquet on her hand and opened the card inserted inside the bouquet

How is the most amazing human being doing? I literally miss seeing that angelic face and gorgeous eyes of yours. I can't wait for all of this to be over so that I can be by your side again. Always take care and keep being a feisty woman that you are

- your dearest admirer, Howard

Evy sighed still with the huge smile that she couldn't wipe off from her lips. "Should have chose the easy way instead of running away" she sighed again, getting up and walking towards her kitchen

Seeing the dry pink tulips on her vase made her chuckle. She removed it from her vase and replaced it with the new ones she just received "I miss you too Howard" she mumbled staring at the flowers on her vase
