"Don't you have a life" Evy asked as she walked past Daniel who's still deep neck into the evidences "my job is my life ma'am" he smiled at her. Evy returned the smile before she grabbed her coat and puts it on

"are you available for a coffee tonight?" he asked looking at her "perhaps another time, I really need a rest today" she gave him a apologetic smile. Daniel nods his head understanding

As she was cleaning her desk, she took a glance at Daniel. Peggy's words made its way into her mind "give the man a chance" Evy shook her head at the thought

Daniel is indeed nice and kind, he even has the looks and it's a plus points that the man himself never thought so low of a woman. He values and respect them

"what about tomorrow?" she asked "hmm?" he turned to her confused "we can re schedule the coffee tomorrow when my shift ends" she offered with a smile

His eyes lights up from the offer. How could he say no to her, he never could. "Yes, yes, of course" he responds smiling widely making her chuckle "tomorrow it is then" she nods smiling

"take care" he called watching her make her way out "you too"

Evy was about to call a taxi when she realised she haven't take a walk for long now. She tightly wrapped her coat around her before she started walking

Taking a glance at her surroundings, it made her feel nothing but sadness. A lot has changed ever since the war has stopped. The last time she even took a walk was with Bucky

No matter how busy she would make herself, memories of the people she had would always come around. Crazy as it may sound, she could feel his presence beside her with every walk she takes

The busy street of New York never failed to amaze her. It's surprisingly quiet for a city that never sleeps.

Too drowned in her thoughts, she didn't realised that she's standing in front of the diner where Steve first took her out for their first date "bloody hell" she sighed remembering every memories that they had

Losing the two has affected her life so much that she can't even explain it and now that Howard is nowhere to be seen, it even made her feel lonely. Howard has earned a spot on her heart, she just don't want to admit it to herself

Every traumatic past that she had seems to vanished away whenever she was around the people that she loved and those people are none other than Steve, Bucky, Peggy, and Howard. Now, it's only Peggy on her side

She would never admit it but Howard always make her feel free. She can express her self truly. Being with Howard feels like home

"damn you Howard, come back"
