"your alive" Evelyn said in relief as Bucky stood in front of her alongside Steve "I had to" he grinned at her "how the hell did Steve grew like that?" bucky asked making her laugh "let the nurse patch you up and I'll tell you everything"
Bucky gave her a smile and made his way to the nurses. Howard appeared on Evelyn's side making her roll her eyes "wanna go grab lunch with me? we can celebrate for the success rescue plan" he smirked at her
"I'm not the one who came back from the war" she replied
"so? I want to take you out, who cares?" he asked
"no" she said walking away from him "the offer is still on the table until 1pm!" he called. Evelyn looked at her wristwatch seeing the time 12:45
"change it until 12:46"
"okay then you got 1 minute"
"Stark for the love of god leave me alone"
"so damn hard to get" he mumbled to himself "you sure?" he yelled again before Evelyn went out of his sight making him chuckle "I can't believe this woman. I offered her a lunch. The howard stark offered her a lunch and she took it down"
"by my observations, she's not the same as other women that you bring to your villa's" Jarvis spoke out of nowhere making him jump "jesus, Jarvis your gonna give me a heart attack"

"What?!" Peggy said in a loud tone "this will be more dangerous than the other attacks that we did, I cant let you both come" Colonel Phillips explained. Peggy looked at Evelyn who sat down on the map table with a blank look on her face while she look down on it "you knew about this?" Peggy asked her making her look up
"no" she said shaking her head "your not surprised for the first time" Howard spoke "this is my surprise face" she deadpanned making Howard chuckle "good, you agree" Philips spoke again "I never said I do"
"that's the plan, ladies go back to your works" he said changing the subject earning a huff from both of them before walking away
"where you going?" Evelyn asked seeing Peggy walking the other way "I have to find Steve, Howard needs him" Peggy said gaining a nod from her
After few minutes Evelyn decided to head where Steve and Howard is knowing she have nothing to do. When Evelyn entered the room she saw Peggy firing at the shield that Steve was holding making her eyebrows raised "yes, I think it works" Peggy spoke placing the gun down
As Peggy walked away, Steve and Howard stood beside each other stunned by what happened. Evelyn shot Peggy a smirk when she walked past her making Peggy smile "hi Steve" Evelyn smiled at him
Before steve can reply to her, Howard beat him into it "hi sweetheart" he smirked. Evelyn rolled her eyes for the hundredth time Howard spoke. She left the room

"ah, there you are" bucky sighed seeing Evelyn "why?" she asked "I wanted to say goodbye before we leave" he smiled at her making her do the same "take care of yourself" bucky added "of course, you too" she replied
The two stare at each other for a moment not knowing what to say, perhaps just don't want to speak out the feelings they have inside. Bucky shook his head and pulled Evelyn towards him followed by placing his lips on hers
Evelyn was shocked but as she realized what's happening she kissed him back with her arms wrapped around his neck. Bucky smiled into their kiss before pulling away "what's that for" she whispered making him chuckle
"I just felt like i needed to" he replied looking at her eyes and just like that, he was stunned again just like how he was when he first laid his eyes on hers "take care there okay?" she smiled looking back at him "bucky" she called
Bucky shook his head and chuckled "I'll take you out dancing when I get back" he promised "why don't you make a list and put that in there so you won't forget it, you know like a list of things you wanna do and places you wanna go" she suggested making both of them smile widely
"I will when I get back, I promise" he said pulling her into a hug. Evelyn wrapped her arms around him hugging him tighter, both of them had no idea where the sudden affection came from
"Evelyn give Stark a chance" Bucky said out of nowhere "what?" she asked confused "he isn't so bad plus the man seems nice" he added giving her a teasing grin "bucky-" Evelyn groaned but he cuts her off
"Natalia it's been years, you have to stop comparing other men to me. I know I'm a very amazing one but come on give others a chance" he teased smirking at her
Evelyn let's out a chuckle shaking her head "I'll try" she mumbled. Bucky nodded and started walking away but she called him "james" she softly called making his head turn to her "Evy" he smiled "come back home" she smiled "of course, for you"
"plus I have to, I promised my doll a dance" he grinned "promise me"
"I promise nat" he smiled again giving her one last hug "I'll see you when i get back" he whispered walking away from her knowing that if he stayed for another minute it will be hard for him to leave
Evelyn stood there with a smile while she watch him walk away, so did Bucky while he walked away from her but neither of them know that the dance he promised won't happen
