"But man... Ray doesn't surprise me, since he's always had his nose stuck in a book since we were little..." Norman said
"But to think that Emma was able to decode that hidden message!" Ray said
"Actually it wasn't me!" Emma stated
"Huh?" Norman hummed confused
"I wasn't the one that discovered the code. Phil was actually the one that pointed it out to me!" Emma said
"... Phil?" I asked raising an eyebrow
"Yup! He just so happened to be reading one of Mr. Minerva's picture books... And that particular book just so happened to be a book on a Morse code. So after that happened, I got curious and went to check all the other books" Emma explained as we arrived to the dining room
"See, it all makes sense now?" Ray teased
"Hold up. What are you trying to imp-" She was cut off as we realized Don and Gilda wasn't there
"Wait... Where's Don and Gilda?" Emma asked
I check in a the supply room and nothing
"They're not here either!" I whispered/yelled
Emma turned around and saw the two, both frowning
"Don... Gilda! Thank goodness... We just assumed that..." Ray cut her off by his hand
"Where have you been?" Ray asked/whispered
They were silent
"The kids are watching. Let's save this for later" Norman whispered
~Later~
".... So.." I said as we waited for an answer from those two
"We were in mom's secret room. It was in a hidden basement" Don said
"How did you get in?!" Emma asked
"Don... Pickpocketed mom's key" Gilda answered
"HE PICKPOCKETED MOM?!" Emma exclaimed surprised
"Well... Has she noticed?" Norman asked
"I don't think so. We also returned the key to her... Probably... So..." Gilda said unsure
"This is exactly why we shouldn't have...!" Ray said
I sighed rolling my eyes "Just try using your brain a little, will ya? What if the room was rigged with some sort of security camera, listening device or alerting system? Mom and Sister Krone would find us out... And then you guys... No, all of us would be..." I paused
"All of us would be... What? Spit it out, Y/n" Don growled
That caught everyone by surprise
""Killed"?" Don added
"Wha-" Emma mumbled
"You Liars. You don't know what happened to Conny? We need to go save our siblings? What a load of bullcrap. You know we can't go save them... Because Conny... Conny and everyone else is already.." Don said looking like he was holding back tears
Emma placed her hands on Don's chest, and bowed lowered her head "I'm sorry... I'm so sorry!!!"
Emma removed her hands
"Just as I thought" Don said and turned to Gilda, he started pointing at us "See, Gilda? They really were lying to our faces!"
"Ah.." Emma mumbled
"What are you hiding from us? Spit out everything you've got" Don growled to Emma
Emma and Norman shared a look then nodded at each other, Emma started explaining to them everything that we've found our
"Wha..." Gilda said shocked
"Demons... And a "Farm"?" Don said and Gilda gasped covering her mouth, fogging her glasses a bit
"Also..." Emma said
"Ray and Y/n... Are "spies"?... All this time?" Don mumbled
"Remember, it was for our sake!" Norman exclaimed
"Then Ray, Y/n... You... You knew what would happen to Conny on the Day she left? Emma... Norman... So both of you were trying to lead us into a world full of enemies without us knowing a single thing about the truth?" Don said and busted out laughing
When suddenly "QUIT MESSIN' AROUND WITH US!!" He yelled punching Norman which shocked everyone
"DON!!" Ray yelled before getting punched too
"... Guh!" Don grunted grabbing Emma by her collar as I helped the two boys up on their feet "Hng!!"
"Don..." Gilda said
Don let go off Emma and placed his hand on his face "Are we really... That useless? In your eyes... Are we seriously so useless you had no choice but to "protect us from the world"?" Don asked
"Huh?" Emma mumbled
"I already know why you lied to us. It's because you wanted to keep us safe, right? I get it. Still... I thought you guys... Wanted us to help you out! It's depressing. It's frustrating. It's true we aren't as smart as you guys are. Nobody can deny that fact!" Don started crying "But... We're family! We're siblings! We just wanted you... To have a little faith in us" he stopped crying and looked away "... My bad. I'm acting a little strange right now. Let me go cool down for a bit"
Don walked away with Gilda chasing after him "Don...!"
It was quiet between us four "It definitely wasn't our intention... But... Now I can see... How cruel we've been to them" Emma said frowning
"Like he said, there's no denying that we aren't on the same level. Anyway, you did say that you were prepared to take anything from those two... When you first proposed the idea that we should all escape together" Ray said
"Well, yeah... But..." Emma muttered "I'm going to go apologize to those two! I wasn't thinking right. I invested in preparing them to resent us, but I didn't invest in trusting their abilities! I need to tell them... That I was in the wrong mindset!"
Emma left and Norman, Ray and I decided to follow her together
