I helped the last person up and Don took the rope away
The kids stared at the hole
We started handing out scarves to everyone so we wouldn't be so cold
"Uhh... How do I wear a scarf again-" I heard Ray sigh from my question but I honestly forgot how
Ray fixed my scarf and I thanked him, he only glared and started looking for something
"So then... As long as we're on this cold ground where there's no sunlight... We have no fear of getting attacked by those roots and falling underground?" Gilda asked
"Probably" Emma answered
"Well then! I'm glad it's winter! Or we would have been eaten!" Don smiled
"Actually..." Nat paused flipping through the pages of the book "... Seems like the hole doesn't open up unless it's winter. The book says that Alvapinera is a legendary cave that one can only enter in winter"
Don took the book with a wobbly smile, reading the page
"It would have been better if it wasn't winter" Gilda patted Don's shoulder
"But thanks to that, we found out... Just how unpredictable the outside is. And what this book means" Emma said
"A guidebook, eh?" I said raising an eyebrow
"Yeah. Hidden in the story are various hints on how to survive the outside. Dangers and how to deal with them.the enemy's weakness. And..." Emma paused
"EMMA! FOUND IT! THIS IS IT!!" Ray yelled
We went to Ray's spot and stared at the plants he called out
"Uh... What's this?" Nat asked
"Water" Ray said
"What?" Everyone else said
"They appear in Ugo's adventures. Anemones that can store freshwater" Ray explained
"Anemones?!" Don exclaimed
"Watch this" Ray said taking out a small knife and Jar. He cut a little slit on the anemone and water squirted out
"Oh!" The younger ones said surprised
After he close the jar and placed the knife back
"This is just a plant. But they were called anemones in the story. And according to the book, this water is drinkable. We don't have to go all the way to the river. In an unknown environment, the biggest concern is obtaining food and water. We don't know what's edible or what's poisonous. So it's great that we can get information on those things"Ray explained to everyone
After that short break, we started our journey again
"Emma, is this the right direction?" Don asked, he was leading the way
"Yeah!" Emma answered and turned to Ray and I "But we sorta went off course we were underground"
I took out the pen and opened it, when suddenly it all made sense to me
"Oh!" I exclaimed
"I see" Ray said and began explaining to Emma "This is our current location. Both B06-32 and B00-15 describe positions. What you call coordinates. The number on the left indicates the distance to north-south, the number in the right to east west"
"No when we left the house, we came from the northeast. And we're heading south now, so..." I told him
"Location B06-32 is south. To be accurate, we're heading toward the eastern side of the south area" Ray added
Emma became flustered which confused Ray and I
"YOU TWO ARE SO SCARY!! HOW DID YOU FIGURE IT OUT SO QUICKLY? SO SCARY!!" Emma exclaimed panicking
"With this many clues, anyone could figure it out" Ray said firmly
"When I first looked at the pen at the house, there was no alphabet and the numbers were 00-00"Emma said
"I see. So we're directly east from the house. We were at B01-14, so we came back north a bit. So? How did you know Tha this was a location. Besides, how do you know to go to point B06-32? How do you know Minerva's there?" Ray asked helping a kid up some r99ts as we continued walking forward a bit
I gave Ray the pen
"Norman said,"You'll understand if you look at the pen."And if I didn't, to "show Ray and Y/n, they'll understand" Emma explained
"So you didn't figure it out, eh?" Ray smirked was seen
"I got Halfway" Emma pouted, Ray tapped the logo that said "Touch me"
Suddenly numbers on top of a rectangular box "13-18-02" and "12345678" On the bottom
"I was able to open it up to there" Emma said
"Well, you're not good with these things, so..." I paused as I let Ray handle it
"Ah! I see. Thats what it is" Ray said
"So you do understand!" Emma said
"Emma, that book. The other one we couldn't figure out. The book about mythology with no Morse code" I said
"That book is the codebook for this pen" Ray added
"A codebook?"Emma asked
"Yeah" Ray answered "Look. There's the same label with no Morse code, right? So you use this book to decipher the code. 13-18-02 is the code. You can move on if you enter the answer. For example we look in the book for page 13, line 18 the second word. The word is "Human""
As Ray did that, a letter popped up from Mr Minerva
""If you need help, come see me." "I'm at location B06-32" "From William Minerva"!!" I read
"It's a message from Mr. Minerva" Emma smiled
"Norman probably saw this. Then there's the next code and it's answer. So there's information split up and..." Ray immediately closed the pen as we felt something
"Hey, guys..." Emma paused
"Yeah. Something's coming" Ray said as we started hearing rumbling
Everyone seemed to notice it too
When we heard a crack a Demon popped out which sent us running whiles the others screams were heard
