"NOVA!"

...

...

All I can remember is hearing Catra call my name. She sounded so scared. I've... never heard her scream like that before.

...

My head is killing me...

...

...

...

Those stupid beasts... they came after us while we were in the outpost. How they figured we'd be there I can't understand. Maybe... it was the scent.

I just hope... that Catra's okay. She was terrified. Anyone would be...

...

I could feel myself moving and fidgeting slightly, realizing I was laying down now. It was weird because two seconds ago I was just with Catra, checking to make sure her scratch wasn't anything serious.

Everything after that was a blur.

I just wanted to protect her. I don't think I realized just how far that wolf form can really go.

...

...

I didn't open my eyes yet, but I was starting to move my wrists and feet, slowly bringing myself back to reality.

When I came to, I was certainly taken aback from how dim it looked. Maybe it was just me. Maybe a part of me was still half-asleep. It was hard to tell.

I seemed to be back in my quarters, recognizing some of the scattered paperwork that I hadn't even bothered to put away or even organize.

...

Of course, seeing that this was the case, I tried to sit up, but a sudden throbbing pain shot through my sides and arms, keeping me grounded where I was. I groaned as I felt the pain course through.

"Nova? Hey...!" Catra popped out of nowhere, it seemed. She came scrambling to the bedside, to my surprise.

Her hair was down, and she was in her pajamas, which was new for me, I guess. She looked stunning, though.

Her sports bra had a pink carnation color, looking just shy of being fully white. She had a pair of light gray spandex to go with it.

...

I just couldn't take my eyes off of her. She's like a blossoming rose in this forest of thorns.

"You done daydreaming?" Catra smoothed her hair back.

"Huh?" I flinched a little bit, having to take in the realization that I was staring at her.

...

...

"I-I wasn't-" I couldn't begin to explain how red my face got in that moment. I panicked, as anyone would. But then again, maybe that's just me.

Catra giggled under her breath as she glanced back at me, her voice hearty, "It's okay. Calm down, howler."

"That's easy for you to say..." I replied to her.
