24: The Failed Confession

I brought Y/N to my favorite place in the boiling isles.

It's a quiet place that I go to often when I seek for solitude.

A place to be alone.

A place where I could pretend that my problems never existed.

This is the first time I'll be visiting this place in a long time. But this time, I won't be alone.

We sat there at the edge to take in the view. The sun has just started to set, our timing was perfect!

"It's beautiful." She smiled.

I like seeing her smile.

I couldn't help but stare for a bit. Unfortunately, she caught me.

Drat! I couldn't look away.

Her e/c eyes were locked with mine.

But her eyes shift to my lips.

I'm starting to feel flustered.

Does she want to kiss? Do I do something?! Gahhh I can't move! Someone tell me what to do!!

She looks hesitant too. The only thing I can think of was to hold her hand.

She stopped shaking which is good. 

Then, she leaned in closer to me.

Everything was going smoothly till her stupid Palisman tried to attack me!

"It's ok, it's just Mari. My Palisman." She chirped, holding the Palisman in her hands.

"Those are dangerous Y/N. You should keep your distance or you might get hurt.". I advised her.

Wild magic has done nothing but pain.

Just then my Palisman tried to attack me.

Such a vile creature. I glared as it chirped.

Y/N finds this trait adorable.

"Oh please." She takes the Palisman away from me. "You wouldn't hurt us would you little rascal?" And gave it a kiss.

I have never felt more betrayed in my life.

"Lighten up will you? I can't enjoy this view if you're being grumpy." She chuckled and rested her head on my shoulder.

It took me by surprise. How is she this comfortable around me? I'm the Golden Guard. Isn't she threatened?

We sat there and enjoyed the view as the sun began to set.

However, I was looking forward to that kiss. If that were what's about to happen.

But I had so much to tell her.

I don't know if I should go with it.

But what I do know is that not telling her feels worse.

I just look at her as whisps of her h/c hair danced with the breeze.

I take her hand and she looks quite surprised.

I place my gloveless hand on her cheek.

I think I should stop but I can't.

I lean in, close my eyes and I finally kiss her.

Her lips were so soft.

She kissed me back.

My heart felt like it was going to explode.

The kiss ended sooner than I would've hoped.

She looked so flushed and startled.
