This could go either really well or really badly. You and L gave Zagreus a worried look, and all he could do was give you one back.

Stepping out from around the corner you showed yourselves before the group of gods. The first time you were able to see Aphrodite and Apollo up close. The truly looked like living statues, perfect features with pristine skin and flowing hair. It was like they'd walked right out of one of the menu paintings portraying them.

"How long have you been there? I'm assuming you heard everything?" Hades asked.

"Uh... yes. We were just coming here to- to give you an update on... you know. And turns out there's other gods here..." you managed to speak.

Your only thought was to cover up your involvement with Dionysus, in hopes you could pass this off as a chance encounter.

"I see... well you're here now and I guess there's no hiding the current circumstances from you" Hades sighed.

The Olympian gods could tell you were shades, although they hadn't seen shades in centuries since they'd not been down to the underworld in centuries. They just scanned you down, watched you.

"I suppose you'll know who these two are, no need for introductions. (Y/n) and L are two of my duty bound shades. Excellent workers, some of my best ones..." hades explained.

"And they're lovers?" Aphrodite asked.

"Oh, yes we are..." L blushed.

"Aww, even in death you can still find love. How sweet, what a beautiful love story" she cooed.

You expected that from the goddess of love, but L was never used to compliments or praise so he couldn't help but feel a little shy in the presence of the goddess of love herself right next to his beloved. The fact she was acknowledging you both as a couple and found you sweet made him feel kind of honoured.

"Listen we're not here to coo over dead lovers. We're here to explain the situation with the deaths. These two are up to date on everything so I suppose I'll let them explain what happened" hades said.

You looked over at L, who you assumed would be explaining since he was the detective who worked on the case to begin with.

"Me?" He whispered.

"You're the detective" you whispered back.

He took a second to process and cleared his throat.

"Ok uh- I was the detective investigating the deaths when I was alive. Then I got killed and I'm here... but we found that a human has a death note and thinks that he can become a god of justice and 'the new world' by killing criminals and anyone that stands in his way. Then a second death note was dropped and a girl found it, fell madly in love with the original killer who treats her horribly and the two are working together. But we managed to apprehend her death note and it's contained by my taskforce who are still alive. But her shinigami was in love with her and killed me to protect her so now that shinigami is dead and... it's complicated. But we managed to get the original death note in the end so now he's only left with whatever paper he's ripped out from the book. Hence why the deaths are slowing to a stop, he's running out of room to write" L explained.

Aphrodite and Apollo just stood there confused for a moment. Taking all that information in.

"Ok... how did the shinigami even get to the humans in the first place?" Apollo asked.

"We looked into that. Their bloody king isn't doing anything to stop them roaming, I had a real harsh chat with him... and when we apprehend the shinigami currently roaming we're trapping him here" Thanatos explained.
