Chapter 57 | decisions

"We don't have much time left until Styx takes us, they better hurry this up" you muttered.

You'd been watching the situation all day, eager to see the end of it. L could tell it was drawing nearer. The girls had given a full statement, and had ended up crying together about how bad Light had treated them. Now they had the rose tinted sunglasses taken off, they could see him for who he really is.

"You think he'll break?" L asked, referring to Cheif Yagami who would been watching.

"Yeah. I know he will. I can feel it" you replied.

Maybe it was your new omniscience's, or just reading the situation well but you knew he'd break. He still watched the taskforce from the security cameras, looking more and more stressed as the hours ticked by. He knew he couldn't escape the truth, he just didn't want to admit his son was Kira. Any father would be torn up over something like this, but he was a man of justice. He had to accept it.

Finally after all day watching the footage, he got up and headed up the stairs. You, L and Ryuk followed.

Reaching the interrogation room, he opened the door stepping inside. Everyone turned to look at him, on edge.

"I wish it wasn't true but... he's Kira" he finally admitted.

The taskforce looked relived, they didn't have to sneak around behind his back anymore. Aizawa got up, and just hugged him. Father to father, he knew this was hard.

"I know this will tear everything apart for you, but it's best to just accept it and move on. For the sake of the rest of the world" Aizawa sighed.

"I know... I know..."

Mr Yagami turned to the two girls sitting at the table, who'd both been crying their eyes out the whole interrogation and had makeup stained on their cheeks.

"I'm sorry my son did all those things to you. I don't know where I went wrong raising him, he should never have taken advantage of you. He's absolutely in the wrong. Even though you both did commit crimes too, it's clear he was the ringleader" he said.

"No no! Don't blame yourself. You've done nothing wrong as a father, Light was just..." Misa began.

"Some people are just born evil... no one's fault but their own" Takada added.

That was definitely true, while most people are a product of their circumstances, some were just born evil. You'd seen a few souls down in Tartarus that were evil from the day they popped out of the womb. Horrible, disgusting people. All of them deserving of their punishment.

"Well, well... he finally cracked" Ryuk snickered.

"No way out for Light now" you said.

"I can't wait for this to be over. When it is I'm just gonna sleep in my chambers for a while,  exhausted" L sighed.

The taskforce and two girls stood around the table, pondering how to go about everything. Aizawa and Matsuda thought back to the time they'd managed to communicate with L.

"We've sorted the girls out... now we just need to make sure Light doesn't try anything when we arrest him" Aizawa said.

"We have the book, so he can't kill us with it. But he does have the papers ripped out still. Even if he is running out of room, there's still the risk he's got just enough to kill us" Matsuda added.

Misa looked up at them, willing to rat light out now.

"He's got a paper in his watch. That's all he has left" she said.

"Right, we'll have to get that watch off him first then. Takada you know of any other papers?" Aizawa asked.

"Nope, that's all I'm aware of" she replied.
