Chapter 40

Today is Saturday and I'm on my way now to the hotel kung saan gaganapin ang maliit na victory party ng company. We used to celebrate for every success of the company, small or huge success matters. 

I'm just wearing a black long sleeveless dress with slit on the side partnered with black purse and heels. I unbuckled my seat belt before heading to the venue. 

I greeted every person that greets me before I reach where my secretary is.

"Ang ganda nga rito." Usal ko habang nililibot ang paningin sa buong lugar. 

"Sabi sa 'yo, Ma'am eh." She proudly said. She's the one who chose this hotel. Although I already saw it pero I didn't expect the additional decorations. A waiter approached us and offered some cocktail, kumuha naman kami ni May at inilapag sa high bar table kung saan kami ngayon.

"Have you eaten?" I asked.

"Yes, Ma'am. Masarap din ang mga foods even the deserts." 

"Sulit naman pala ang bayad." Usal ko bago ininom ang cocktail na kinuha ko mula sa waiter.

Mamaya nalang siguro ako kakain para tikman ang mga foods dito, nag-dinner kasi ako bago umalis dahil nagbigay si William ng sinigang. Yes, nagbigay siya at siya raw ang nagluto no'n. Syempre tinanggap ko, marupok kasi ako. Well, kidding aside nagugutom na rin kasi ako kanina kaya tinanggap ko 'yon 'tsaka h'wag na tayong mag-inarte sinigang na 'yon eh. He often do that since the day he said something that made me feel hope and acceptance for everything that happened. He wanted to prove himself, he wanted to prove that he made a huge mistake back then and regret everything. 

Usually every dinner nag-aabot siya ng ulam sa unit ko. Minsan naman agahan, usually pancakes na mainit-init pa, super perfect sa kape na iniinom ko. Marunong ako magluto, but usually I had no time doing it at sa cafeteria ng company nalang ako kumakain.

Moments later, I saw William's approaching us. He's wearing a white long sleeve polo folded up to his elbows and tucked in to his slacks partnered with leather shoes. Kumuha ito ng cocktail sa kadaraan lang na waiter at inilapag ito sa high bar table kung saan kami ngayon.

"Hi." Nakangiting usal nito habang nakatingin sa akin. 

I pursed my lips before glancing at May who currently looking at me and William.

"H-Hello," I said as I cleared my throat and drink the cocktail that I'm holding.

"So, how's my sinigang? Sarap 'no?"

With that, nasamid ako sa alak na iniinom ko. 

"Ma'am, ayos lang kayo? Here." May said while offering some tissue. Tumango naman ako bago kinuha 'yon at pinunasan ang bibig ko.

"Tatanong lang eh. Bakit, hindi ba masarap?"

I glared at him to shut up and to warn him because my secretary is around. He then bit his lower lips but I could sense his humor. He turn his gaze at May and greeted her. May covered her mouth with her hand in surprised because William greeted her. She's a fan of course.

"Hello! Oh my God, Mr. William!" May said while waving her hands to William.

"Cheers?" William raised his glass at dali-dali namang nakipag-toast si May. 

Maya-maya lang ay nag-umpisa nang magsalita si Direct Bem to acknowledge the whole team and other department for the accomplishment we've made and launch, we also acknowledge the Alienation Ph and Bloodline. Speaking of Bloodline, my eyes scanned the whole venue and saw Mateo. He noticed that I'm looking, nagtama ang paningin namin ngunit agad itong napayuko at umiwas ng tingin.
