Chapter 48

I put down the magazine that I'm looking at before letting someone enter my office. 

"Ikaw pala, so anong balita?" Usal ko nang makapasok ang sekretarya kong si Montes.

"Wala naman, boss. I just wanna let you know na it's been three days since they emailed us. Aren't we going to respond?" He reminded before putting down the tablet and showed me the email.

It's been how many years since I entered pro-scene. Throughout my career I focused. After Loraine told me all her mistakes, hindi ko na rin siya nakita. I didn't bother asking about her leaving the boothcamp before. But our coach stated na nag-quit na ito. Hindi ko alam kung lumipat ba siya ng team or nagpatuloy ba siya sa gaming. Hindi ko alam, at ayoko nalang alamin at isipin 'yon. 

Hindi lang isang beses ako nakatuntong sa international tournament at naging world champion. We won multiple times, hindi man tuloy-tuloy but we still manage to be a world champion for many times. And I'm so happy reaching my dream that high. And now, I'm currently handling the team where I started to dream high and big. 

Muli kong tinignan ang email. I was expecting to see her name but I wasn't able to.

"Who emailed you?"

"The secretary of the CEO, boss." He stated before taking back the tablet and checked something. "CEO Joanna Tugafin of Tugafin's Clothing. One of the well-known clothing company here in our country. They were able to attend fashion shows and their products are good—"

"I know... you don't need to explain that." I cut him off before sitting properly.

Hearing her name again makes my heart surrounded by butterflies. After so many years, ngayon ko lang ulit narinig ang pangalan nito.   

"Alam niyo naman pala, boss eh. Bakit hindi pa po tayo mag-respond?" He then asked before sitting at the couch in the middle of my office.

"Well... I'm still thinking why did they sent us an invitation for sponsorship." I smirked before standing and sitting at the side of my table.

"Could it be her?" I muttered before putting my hand under my chin as I put my arms over my chest. "Is she making a move now to see me?" I bit my lower lip to stop myself from smiling.

"We won the tournament, remember? Alienation's name reached them, and knowing how popular our team is and how they support e-sports... malamang 'yon ang rason nila. Also who are you talking about, boss?" He then cut me off... he just cut my imagination on how Joanna could possibly do for us.

I look at him deadly and he just sighed before massaging his forehead. 

Sa totoo lang medyo mas mukha pa 'tong boss sa akin eh. Just look how he act. Sa loob ng ilang taon niyang pagiging sekretarya ko masasabi ko namang masipag siya at magaling sa trabaho niya. Para ko na rin siyang kaibigan kaya we're comfortable to each other. Minsan lang ay nakakapikon na ito.

"I'm talking about the CEO,"

"Ah your ex." 

Nanlaki naman ang mata ko sa sinabi nito na parang hindi ito big deal.

"Shut up, don't even mention it."

"Eh 'di ba may boyfriend na 'yon?" Biglang tanong nito na agad ko namang ikinagulat.

"B-Boyfriend? Who?"

"I  mean, I'm not sure if it's her boyfriend."

Nakahinga naman ako nang maluwag bago kinuha ang thumbler ko para uminom.

Could it be the guys she was with during her parents' burial?

"Anyway... ano na?" He then said before standing and showing me again the email from the tablet.
