A/N:*Flashback: Day after Sophie's parents accident.* (Sophie-7 Keefe-8)

Keefe's POV:
The final touches are almost done. I can only hope this will help Foster feel even a little bit better. Poor girl's been through so much. The accident with her parents has hit her harder than I think anyone could understand. But tonight, I've set up something just for her, something I hope will lift her spirits, if even for a short while.
A small smile—just a glimpse—would mean the world to me. But I get it. I understand that sometimes it's okay to not be okay. Life is hard, and I know Foster's been carrying a heavy load. Still, I can't help but wish I could take some of that weight off her shoulders. She deserves so much more than what she's been given.
Foster is so incredibly special to me. She's been a part of my life since we were both so young, and even though she doesn't know it yet, she's been my anchor in a world that often feels completely adrift. My heart has belonged to her since the very first moment we met, and it'll never be the same again. Foster, you mean more to me than you'll ever know.
Flashback: When They First Met
Keefe: 4 years old / Sophie: 3 years old
Keefe's POV:
"I DON'T CARE!! WHY DID YOU GIVE ME A SON THAT IS SO USELESS?" My father's voice pierced through the walls of our house, and I could hear my mother's soft sobs in the background. I couldn't stand it anymore. I ran—ran without a destination, only the need to escape the suffocating tension. The tears welled up quickly, but I refused to let them fall. I had to keep running, away from the hurt and the anger.
I didn't stop until I found a familiar place—a secluded nature park on the edge of the city. Not many people knew about it. It was my secret, a refuge where I could escape when my parents were fighting, a place where I could just be alone with my thoughts. I found a small grove of trees surrounded by wildflowers, and there, in the silence of the woods, I sat down, burying my face in my hands as the tears came pouring down.
Why were my parents so cruel to me? Why couldn't they just love me the way I needed them to? I looked around at the other families in the park, all of them so perfect, so happy. It wasn't fair. I felt so alone, so abandoned. What was wrong with me? My sobs came harder, deeper, as I wondered if they even cared about me at all.
Suddenly, I heard a soft voice. "Hey. Are you okay?"
I looked up through blurry eyes and saw a small girl standing there, her blonde hair shining in the sunlight, and her brown eyes warm and inviting. I couldn't tell if there were flecks of gold in her eyes, but they sparkled with kindness.
"No," I managed to choke out, my voice barely above a whisper.
Without hesitation, she walked up to me and sat down beside me. She didn't say anything at first. Instead, she simply wrapped her arms around me, pulling me into the warmth of her hug. I didn't even know who she was, but in that moment, I felt something I hadn't felt in a long time: comfort.
Her hug was like a balm to my broken heart. It was real, it was kind, and it made all the hurt disappear for a while. I hadn't even realized how much I needed that hug until I felt it.
"You want to tell me what happened?" she asked gently, her voice soft like the wind.
I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself as I explained the chaos at home. I told her about my parents' constant fighting and how it felt like they didn't love me. She didn't interrupt. She just sat there, listening, like she understood, like she cared.
