He turned without a word, eyes moving over her form. His lips parted; jaws drop as there was a moment of disbelief. There was a dance of bright panic in his eyes and she saw herself in his gaze, dripping with red and looking like a model straight out of a horror scene. Her world swung; vertigo attacked mercilessly on its next victim as nausea caught her in its grasp. Then it fizzed into a soft fuzz as her eyes blurred.

"I'm passing out—"

"SHE'S BLEEDING TO DEATH!" She roused for the briefest moment to JieMi's panicking voice through the receiver, screaming the words out in sobbing agony. She was on the toilet, spread as blood continued to trickle like a bad case of diarrhoea. "H-HOW? I DON'T KNOW HOW? WE NEED AN AMBULANCE." And then she was consumed by darkness, the world disappearing and reappearing before her eyes.

She was being pushed through the crowd her slumped body propped in his arms as he ran through people that seemed to part at his touch. She could feel the fabric, the exhales of shock as she moved and the wetness between her legs. The warmth of people surrounding her body, there were gasps soft echoing whispers.

"Please let me through," he chanted through the darkness. "Please, please, please. Please let me through." Venom dripped from the rasp of his voice when someone stumbled before their path. "FUCKING LET ME THROUGH!" The scream was inhumane, wild and animalistic. It tore through and like wildfire the people moved away. But the clicks continued, snaps from cameras that echoed all around her.

She smiled.

Amber must have gotten to the hospital because by then the world was rushing, there were machines blinking, things attached to her arms. People dressed in white frocks and uniforms flitting back and forth. An army that attempted to stabilise her.

The cold was what she noticed first, it shifted through her and resulted in a tremble that vibrated through her skin. And there were whispered gasps and cries from her soulmates. Hands on hers as she was wheeled through spinning lights that cycled forth. She tried to reassure them that she was fine.

When she regained understanding of the world it was to a tugging at her belly and a strange shift of organs, her intestines were moved and pried. Something gave way, fleshy bits of her twisted and then there was a pop.

Then the softest, tiniest cry.

A child.

You've had a child.

The information came to her in the hasty, sardonic words of a nurse as she rose from medicine induced slumber. Amber had choked out a sound of utter confusion; her mind was hazy with sleep as the nurse wheeled her forward through a hallway of flashing lights and fading dreams.

You gave birth to a little baby girl.

There were other questions on pain, questions on her memories. Then the repeating feed of information like a broken record. It was their way of reducing the stress, to allow the knowledge to settle in her head like dust upon tranquil waters. A slow fed poison. A 'gentle' alternative to the explosion it should cause.

What do you remember?

Blood. JieMi's eyes, JieMi's voice. JieM's tears. Her chest grew tight and her belly ached with fear. Her soulmates. The fans. The airport. She'd squinted, tasted the dryness of her lips. The tour.

There was a flash JieMi's panic-stricken eyes, so filled with terror that it sent a heavy rush of pain through her chest. She squirmed, tried to get up, but failed from weakness. Itchiness settled upon her skin; she scratched at what she could find.

Sweetheart, you've had a placental abruption. Your placenta tore from physical trauma resulting in blood loss. We've had to give you an emergency c-section.
