Isagi carefully inspected the gift on his bench. Would confetti pop out of it? It didn't seem so, so after some contemplation he finally picked it up. What is it this time? Isagi unwrapped the present and found a small necklace, discreet enough to be hidden underneath his shirt. On the small pendant was a few words engraved in English. I love you... Translated Isagi and felt his ears get redder. Just confess already Kaiser. For the entirety of January and now in February too, this and other types of gifts had been common for Isagi. Two times there had been a gigantic bouquet, that Isagi would be more interested in how no one had noticed anyone bringing it there. They had always been fresh too which was very suspicious.

This entire spectacle had begun in December about a month after Isagi had taken second place in the exam. Kaiser had taken first place, but admitted Isagi as a rival. Slowly until the end of the year, Kaiser's demeanour had changed, still somewhat aggressively flirting with him, but it seemed less teasing, and more sincere. It had confused Isagi to the hell of it. He had celebrated Christmas as usual but with an addition of Bachira and his mom being there too when a gift had arrived late. The present was from an unknown sender and when opened, Isagi had found a scarf in his favourite colour. At first glance looking very simple, but on closer inspection, the seams had been flawless. Bachira had asked who it was from and Isagi had answered that he didn't know. The scarf had luckily had a little tag so that Isagi could search up the brand. What he had found out was that it was a luxury brand who did custom orders. Only from that Isagi had sorted out that it had to be someone rich and someone who were around him frequently enough to know his favourite colour and knew that he was in need of a scarf. After some diligent research and a visit to one of the brand's stores, he found out that the one that had sent him the scarf was no other, than Kaiser. Isagi had been shocked of course, because why would his rival order and give him a personalised scarf? It hadn't been like they were friends or anything before. When school had started again, Isagi had been more conscious around Kaiser. Taking everything he was saying more seriously. The gifts popping up almost every day was a little laughable, since they ranged in both size and usefulness. Almost everyone in class had noticed it by now. Asking who the secret admirer was. Kaiser had of course also asked, but always seemed to ask in a roundabout way whether Isagi had liked the gifts or not. Isagi would reply honestly, and Kaiser seemed to take note if what he liked, disliked and what he found useful. Isagi had been absolutely stunned by the cheer sincerity of Kaiser's actions sometimes, which had made Isagi himself take mental notes of what Kaiser liked.

It was almost valentines day now. The perfect time to confess and Isagi had decided that if Kaiser weren't going to confess his feelings, Isagi was going to ask Kaiser out instead. Valentines day was only next week, but he had yet to tell even his best friend about his plans. I will tell Bachira today. Isagi looked around the classroom, making sure Kaiser wasn't looking at him, before quickly putting on the necklace and hiding it under his shirt. I will not let it get to your head just yet.
