Seishiro rushed out of the house, he wasn't thinking, he didn't even hear what his mother said when she called out to him, he needed to see Reo.
Reo was sitting inside the house, mindlessly playing with the pebble pieces of the Wei Qi game that they hadn't yet finished playing, when the window swung open. Seishiro always knocked on the window so Reo jumped when it opened forcefully. Seishiro's breath was ragged, sweat dripped off his hairline. The image sent Reo into worry as he ran over to Seishiro.
"What's wrong?! Why did you run here? Are you alright?!" Reo panicked.
Seishiro didn't even realize he ran. He didn't realize how tired he was or how his legs ached. All he knew was how fast his heart was beating and it wasn't the running that caused it. Seishiro stood up and looked directly into Reo's eyes. His gaze was intense, taking Reos breath. They both stood staring at each other. Seishiro's eyes were intense and full of emotions while Reo's were vulnerable and fragile. Reo was the first to break the gaze.
He cleared his throat, "What's going on?" He asked.
Seishiro couldn't process his thoughts now he was standing across Reo. It was like the room had shrunk, because they were standing close enough to touch. Seishiro could feel the warmth radiating off Reo, Reo could feel Seishiro's anxiousness as his hands trembled. Slowly Seishiro's hand shakily grabbed a hold on Reo's- it was desperate but also gentle. The hand enclosed on Reo's delicate pale one, Reo stared at their hands.
"I love you"
It was a soft whisper next to his ear. For a moment Reo wasn't even sure he heard correctly when Seishiro spoke a little louder "I love you Reo"
Reo turned to his head, his eyes met Seishiro's. Reo stood there, eyes wide and gaping, like a goldfish.
"I- I want to hold hands with you, like this, I want to hug you when you act all silly and cute" Seishiro smiles timidly, afraid it's wrong to. A tint of blush blooms across Reo's face and his hand tightens around Seishiro's. "And I-I want to, to kiss and love you. I want to fall asleep and wake up next to you. I want to spend the rest of our lives together"
Reo stays silent. At this moment, Seishiro thinks seconds pass like hours. They hang there in deafening silence, the pain of rejection slowly flooding his veins. Slowly he asked "spend- spending our lives together?" Reo's voice quivered.
Seishiro nodded "I will spend my whole life loving you, being by your side. I will give you my heart, my life, my soul, everything- you can have it all. I will never leave you Reo," with that a tear escaped Reo's eye. Seishiro gave Reo a gentle smile as he wiped away the teardrop, "How does that sound Reo?"
