Becky's POV

"I am so done!" I said to myself with a bit of disappointment.

"I did everything, wrote down all possible ideas and solutions, but none of these would be possible without tons of money!" I added.

I lay down on my bed, trying to calm my mind.

But remembering how my parents talk about bankruptcy, how they're slowly selling some of their properties just to save our company weighs heavily on me.

As my tears fell onto my face, I felt myself on the brink of losing hope. I couldn't help but wonder if being a CEO was truly meant for me. Although it had been my deepest dream, but the current circumstances made me doubt if it would ever come to fruition.

My phone caught my attention when it vibrated. I wipe down my tears before checking who messaged me.

It was Sam's message from our Group Chat.

"Are you guys free tomorrow? I was thinking about going to my private place, who's in?" She said.

LOL. This is the first time she invited us to her place, she never bother to bring us there even if we insist.

"Look who's inviting us to her private place. What did you eat that made you decide to invite us?" Cath asked. Even Cath is confused.

"Oh, I agree. I hope that's what you'll always eat." Zoey replied.

"Dumbass. We all know Becky is not okay, so let's make her happy and help her forget about her problems, even just for a couple of days" She said.

My heart was filled with joy because of what I read. It's just so nice having someone who won't let you be sad for a long period, someone who thinks of things that will make you happy especially when you're not okay.

I smiled.

"Guess who's smiling. Hahaha! Thank you, Sam. Always." I said.

I put down my phone and caught myself smiling. I hate having mixed emotions, I'm confused about how this feeling's giving me butterflies.

My phone vibrated again, so I immediately check who that is.

"Guess who's concerned for her...." Zoey chatted.

"Future... lover?" Cath added.

"Whatever! By the way, you're always welcome, Becky. So, see ya tomorrow, bitches!" Sam replied.

I caught myself smiling again, maybe knowing how grateful I am to have these people in my life.

It's passed 8:00 PM and I am still wide awake. What I'm supposed to do now? *Sigh* Really wanna calm down, I need to stop overthinking about everything... this is making me so sick!

I decided to go for a quick walk, finding some peaceful place to unwind. I don't know but I found myself typing a message for Sam, who's still online.

"Aren't you busy? I'm here at Starbucks, mind joining me?" I said.

"Sure, coming!" She said.

While waiting for her, I enjoyed looking around, appreciating the design and how relaxing the music is. Well, I need to entertain myself before thinking of problems again.

To tell you something, Samantha Young was my high school friend, and we never cut ties until we graduated, or even if she confessed.

Yes, she confessed her feelings a year ago. I told her that I am straight and that there was no chance in heaven that I would date a girl. Thankfully, she understands and respects my identity. However, she asked me to let her express her feelings and care, and to not stop her from taking care of me... and that's the only thing she asked for.

That was a year ago, and Sam's consistency really amazed me. How I wish I was gay and dated the most wonderful woman I've ever met.

When Sam walked into Starbucks, everyone, even girls, couldn't help but turn their heads. I don't blame them though, Sam is really attractive. But I apologize to those who are here, as she will be sitting in front of me.

We smiled as our eyes met. She's wearing a black hoodie and black shorts.

"What brings you here?" She asked while taking a seat.

"Well, just wanna unwind and forget all of these shits in a minute," I said.

"Well, there's a better place for that. Why here?"

"I don't know where to go. Do you know a place where can we breathe?" I asked.

"Well, there's the only one place I go to breathe, relax and unwind. My private place." She said.

"Let's go there, can we?" I asked. I can see how surprised she is.

"But, the plan supposed to be tom-"

"We can wait for Zoey and Cath tomorrow, just let me borrow some of your clothes as I don't have any on me. No further discussions, besides, I am really excited to see your place."

"U-uh, o-kay?"

I looked around and noticed that some were still stealing glances at Sam. Is it their first time seeing someone good-looking?

"Let's go." I said.

We stood up and I immediately held Sam's hand. I could see the surprise in her eyes, but I didn't care. I just wanted to make those who were looking at us feel envious.

----

Sam is waking me up, and so I slowly open my eyes.

My heart's racing when Sam's face is so close to mine, why this lady is so freaking beautiful? Damn it.

"How can you be this perfect, Sam?" I don't even know why I said that, but I did.

"Well, all I can say is, you deserve perfect in this world. Hahaha, kidding!" She replied.

"Whatever!"

I got out of the car and was amazed by what I saw. It felt like I was in an expensive beach resort. There was a mansion on the side and luxurious deck chairs on the other side facing the sea. The designs were simple yet incredibly beautiful. I'm not expecting these, this is Instagramable!

"Oh, my freaking- this place is so nice!"

"Don't be too dramatic. Let's go there, I prepared coffee for us... but if you want to sleep-"

"No, let's go" I said.

-

We're here laying on the deck chair while appreciating the moon in front of us. To be honest, I feel so much comfort right now, and my hopes are coming back.

I look at Sam beside me, she's staring at the moon... Well, I know Moon is her comfort zone, she loves Moon that much.

"Thank you, Sam" I suddenly said. "For everything." I added.

"And thank you for letting me do these things, Becky." She said while looking and smiling at me.

I returned my gaze to the moon and took the opportunity to speak.

"Thank you for consistently making me happy, even though all I did is to break your heart." I said.

"Do you know what taught me loving you, Becky?" She asked.

I look at her, waiting for her to continue.

"You taught me that love is not just about the exhilaration of butterflies in your stomach. It's about being with someone who brings you happiness, even when it hurts at the same time. So, don't be sorry for your rejection, you don't know how happy I am about your existence." She added.
